Do you double check your doors and windows when you sleep or go out?

Before I go to sleep, I would do this to make sure they are closed and locked properly so that I do not need to worry and sleep well. I am afraid that burglars would intrude our home. When I go out, I would close the windows of my house and sometimes I would leave the light in the living room on to give the impression that someone's at home. Do you do this before you go to sleep and when you go out? Or, do you depend on other people at home to do this instead?

Hi dolce, I am paranoid about that things...LOL! I will check several times and even I am in the bed already, i will stand again to check again! LOL! I want always to be safe and I love also this attitude which I learned since I was a kid with Dad and Mom, it's hard to trust this time! I am like you also, I will turn on the lights whenever we will go out so people will think that we are just inside!

My parents never fail to remind me about double checking if the doors and windows are locked before I go to sleep or before I go out.

My hubby and son depend on me to check the doors and windows. I have a habit of making sure everything is locked before we leave to go anywhere. We live on the second floor so even though it's unlikely anyone can climb up on our balcony, I am still cautious and lock everything.

Where we live is in the country where you can hear someone driving in your drive way. We lock the doors when leaving the house and even when we are home. The windows are locked too. But if someone broke in it would have to be when we are not here. Like I said we live in the country and you can here someone pulling in the drive way but that doesn't mean anything. Crime happens any and every where. Have a good one.

It is definitely better to be safe than sorry. We do that also when nobody is left behind to watch the house. Especially with the Christmas season near, crime rate will go up...

My dad is so concerned about this and he always has an eye on this.. even if he is not doing well he will instruct us to keep the door closed as there were many thefts and murders happening in our place my dad is so worried about that, he doesnt want to be a victim of those burglars and yes while we sleep we keep our doors locked and sleep and even during the day time my mom keeps the door locked and if someone knocks the door she just peeps out and find who was it and just talk to them by staying inside , she wont open the door unless and untill she doesnt know them very well

Usually I don't. I live in an area that's pretty much crime free. Although the other night some people went on a stealing spree milking petrol from cars and taking other items as well. That had me a bit concerned so I slept the next night with all the doors locked. I usually have the front doors locked but not the back door...my back yard is quite secure because of the animals. I live alone so I need to looka fter this sort of thing myself.

I have started double checking after I had a break in some months back. At that time I did not have grills on my windows. Since I was staying on the first floor I think I was a bit careless and then the heat was also too much. One night a guy just walked in through the window at 4 am. Luckily I woke up just in time. But he managed to take a bag that was lying on the study table. I was too scared to scream at that moment. And he jumped out of the window as soon as I woke up. I do not keep the lights on while sleeping at night and so do not leave them on when I go out too.

Before I go to bed I always check the front & back door as we are always going in & out so I check to make sure one of them locked the door or we would have the doors open all night. If I knew they were not locked then I would not be able to sleep & it is a habit as both my husband & my son are over the truckers so I am by myself a lot so I need to make sure the doors are locked have a good day

Yes. I think it is better to be safe than sorry. It's not OCD or anything like that. We live in dangerous times. We even lock the door of each our bedrooms. Maybe for better off countries, these is just unthinkable but for our country, it's the best way to prevent crimes from happening to you.

Me and my hubby see to it that the doors are locked. We also set our security alarm just to make sure if someone try to intrude our house they wont get away with it. There is a lot of things i heard on the news and i dont wanna take that for granted. Even though i know that we live in a peaceful community. It is still better to be cautious at all times.

I live in a bad neighborhood at the moment, so yes, I always lock my doors and windows. You cannot trust the people where I live at all.

Hi again! I live alone and I don't have anyone to depend on except for my dogs to protect me or make some noise for burglars. But even before when I still live with my aunt I always check the gate, doors and windows and make sure they're locked properly and secure. I also do that when I'm at my family's house visiting them. When I was a kid I always see my mom and dad checking the whole house when its sleeping time already. So maybe I got the habit from them and its a totally good habit. I also do the same thing whenever I leave home. Ciao!

Hey, have your house been intruded by burglars? In my hometown, the houses on the low floors of the building have metal partition outside their windows, and for the houses on the high floors, it's impossible to climb for burglars. Therefore, all the things we need to do is do not forget to close the door when we leave. But I know a man, who has a weird habit, is always washing his hands and face. He washes them more than twenty times everyday, and several minutes for each time. I have tried to ask him why he does that, the answer is "I thought I didn't wash them clear, that's all".

yeah. we're scared of burglars too and you don't really feel that safe when you don't lock and even double-check.
