A few months ago, I discovered a store brand of what is pretty much Kool-aid over at Wal-mart. My favorites are Apple, Orange and Cranberry They all taste like fruit juice, but with no sugar whatsoever. I love the stuff and sInce I'm diabetic, it's great to find something other than soda water to drink and it's sometimes hard to find non-sugared powdered drinks that aren't geared toward kids and tend to be things like Grape or bubblegum sweet. That does sound like something that would be good for kids also since it has no sugar in it. I am not sure about the cranberry but I know they like apple and orange. I am really surprised that it is a store brand that has come up with that before a major brand. There are a lot of store brand things though that I do like more than major brands and much cheaper too.

I'm also trying to wean myself off sodas in preparation for Gastric Bypass sometime in the next few months. So, this stuff is a great alternative. Sure it has NOTHING in it other than maybe some Vitamin C, but the flavor is pretty good and it's Summer in Texas and sometimes ya getz tired of TEA! We buy a lot of store brands - saves us some $$. The Great Value Canned Whole tomatoes are REALLY good and as close as we could find to the ones we used to get at Albertson's (all of the ones here in town have closed so we had to find an alternative.)

I LOVE fresh Orange Juice, but unfortunately it's LOADED with sugar - granted it's fruit sugar instead of processed sugar, but I'm trying to keep the sugar intake down because of the diabetes so this stuff is a good alternative.

I like to sweeten things with stevia, or find things sweetened with stevia, because it helps insulin. You mostly have to look in health food stores to find it. Some of the things like Crystal Light, that come in the sticks or in tubs taste pretty good. You can get some more grown up flavors there. It is hard to find things geared toward adults with sugar issues, but I find it is getting easier as there is more demand. I did actually get my powdered stevia packets at Wal Mart, and in its powder form it contains fiber as well. It is a brand called Sweet Leaf.

I have tried the stevia stuff, but I wasn't that impressed. It had a "taste" to it that is kinda like that nasty Sweet N Low. I tend to use either nutrasweet or splenda most of the time. I'm getting better about wanting fruit rather than candy when I'm wanting sweet so at least there's some fiber in there, but I do love a Banana Split Blizzard sometimes!!!!

They are really amazing tasting. She loves grapefruit and isn't supposed to eat or drink the real thing, and really loves the flavor. I like the apple and orange.

There is one that I get that is grapefruit flavored that also has caffeine, is that the one you mean? It is really good. I just cannot remember what it is called. Morning something or other, I believe.

No, these are caffeine free, tho I've seen the one you are speaking of. I figure I get enough caffeine in the DDP I drink. She is supposed to get off caffeine and is doing rather well at it.
