why is it that every time people order a burger it always comes with a fries?

Don't mess with a good thing. It is just supposed to be that way. In the cosmo and the making of the universe it was ordained that hamburgers would have fries with them for all eternity.

Hmm.. I never thought of it that way! I guess it's turned into a normal thing that's just acceptable by people in this point of time. Most people like fries, however, and even if you didn't you could change it to another option like onion rings, salad, etc...
