Monkees fans?

I just adore the Monkees. I remember as a teen they would rerun thier show on MTV and I would watch it all the time. I love those old shows. I love thier music still many years later. What is your favorite Monkee song? Mine is Daydream believer. But I like a lot of thier songs. The show was goofy to the extreme but I still loved it.

The only song I actually know of theirs is that one that Smashmouth covered, not sure of the name... (Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer...) yeah that one. I know I know more of their songs though, just don't recall off the top of my head. And yeah, I'm a fan of them. I'm too young to have seen them on MTV though!

MTV reran thier shows in the 80's. I am too young to have watched the first airings of them.

They were not on MTV. MTV did not exist when the Monkees had their own tv show. However, it is pretty well known that their tv show was where making music videos had its start. The Monkees were on tv in the late 60's and maybe early 70's. I don't think MTV started until maybe the mid 70's. I know it was on when I first started college in the fall of 73, but don't think it was on much before that.

Hey sweet! I used to love the Monkees too! I had a crush
on Mickey and then on Peter. I loved their music too.
I liked alot of their songs. Daydream Believer was one
of my favorites too along with the theme song. I remember
when I was about 13 going down to Greenwich Village
where Davy Jones & Peter Tork had this Hippie Clothes
Boutique and they were supposed to be there that day.
Me and a couple of my friends took the subway and went
there. When we were leaving all of a sudden this limo
came out of nowhere and there they were sitting in the
back of it. They turned aroung and gave us a big smile
and waved. We were right in back of the limo so we got
a close look! We were screaming in the street! I'll
never forget that!

The Monkees! Oh how they bring back memories of watching them when I was a kid. I love Daydream Believer being I daydream A LOT. Hubby likes them as well and sometimes we will still catch them on tv and now our daughter loves them. Can't beat those old shows, eh?

I love the Monkees! The show was great and the music is fantastic! Not sure which song I would call my favorite... I suppose if I had to choose i'd say their theme song. All their songs are great though.

I grew up with the Monkees and loved them. I still have all the albums I had when I was a kid...all of them but one I guess of their originals...there is one I never knew about until a few years ago. I don't have any of their releases when they tried to reunite for a brief time. However, I found a lot of good Monkee videos on YouTube from their tv shows. They are fun to watch again. Davy Jones has his own website and he is still just as gorgeous as he used to be. Too bad he was so short. LOL. Like I would have ever met and had a chance with him back then. I was just a kid. He lives in both PA and FL and raises race horses. I don't know if I can pick a favorite song, but I also liked Daydream Believer. I liked basically all the songs Davy did...he was my favorite. I liked Mickey too.
