How observant are you?

When it comes to the mylot pages, how observant are you? In all the little boxes I fear I do not always notice things like friend requests. Sometimes when I do see the person making the request I wonder why it took me so long to notice since that person and I were commenting back and forth. For instance, I just noticed a request that was made almost an hour ago. So, tell me, do you often notice these things? Or, are you like me, too busy typing to see what's going on on the page?

When I first started using the internet all I ever did was look at pictures and visit an adult chat room. Look how far I have come

I like to be observant and look around the site ,maybe out of curiosity. So in way i tend not to miss out on things like friends requests and messages. But they do get delayed in actioning out if i am concentrating on responding to some discussions or starting one. There may be some other things i miss out though. I hope not

I hope you are not missing anything either Sometimes I do tend to get so wrapped up in looking at discussions that I forget there are other things on the page

Well, in that sense, I think I am quite observant. In fact, that is the first thing I look for. I don't like seeing numbers in brackets lying around so I try to clear them the first unless there are more pressing things to be done. So nope, I won't be too busy to see what's going on. Well, usually.

There are times when I tend to miss the friends request but most of the time I do notice for some odd reason my eye sees something different and I look directly at it.

I think I may be missing them because I so often scroll down the page so quickly that I don't always notice the top of the page

I am very observant, I am constantly looking and searching around MyLot. I try to keep up with the discussions I miss a lot of them because they move so fast. I hardly ever go pass the first page, if it gets moved to the second page I will miss it. I go from friend started, new, recent often. I look at friends and message all the time. Not that I have many messages.

I spend lots of time going through the new discussions, then I work my way over to the ones my friends started just in case I missed something good. I need to pay more attention to the whole page, not just the discussions I guess

hi fwidman sometimes I get too busy responding and typing, as I am the worlds worst typist, and so I dont always see the friends requests. Also I dont always check my earnings as sometimes it depresses me when I think I have earned a lot 'and mylot doesnt seem to think so. Sometimes I just make it a priority to check all the boxes before I start responding.

Oh, Hatley, you are not the world's worst typist! I'd be willing to bet you I make many times more typos than you do. I type so fast that often my fingers and my brain are not connected The sad part is that I type while I am looking at the keyboard

I'm very observant in most everything I do, and sometimes I don't know if that is a blessing or not. I tend to notice every little thing and it can drive me crazy! I even circle spelling errors in books I'm reading, and it bothers me greatly to see something that has been proofread goodness knows how many times still be printed with typographical errors. Of course here on myLot and other places online, I don't half the time take the time to proof what I've typed myself, I just get going and hit that 'send' button too quickly and move on. I've sure embarrassed myself more than once! Ok, back to the original comment - I do tend to notice the numbers next to the friend requests and private messages as they appear, but they really aren't all that noticeable. I think they should put the number in a different color or something to make it stand out more.

That might help, having them in a different color. I have typed half a dozen replies to this post in the past few minutes. I just now looked up at the top of the page to see that there is another friend request

I usually look around and see about friend requests and messages. Sometimes I jump right in and start typing and notice it later after I've finished my thought.

Hi fwidman, When I first log on and open Mylot page that is the first thing I look to see if I have any friends requeat and if there is any messages as well, then I start my posting but sometime while I'm posting I will resecive a friends request but I still notice it so I think I'm very observant. Hi, Tamara. Yes, you are pretty observant. I usually come to mylot from my email box to answer something. I am never logged off so I just go straight to discussions and so that makes it more difficult for me to notice those requests.

I hardly ever notice them. I had a friend request sitting there for 3 days, once. I usually glance over at that side of my screen when I log off. THAT is when I notice there are messages, friend's requests, whatever. Then, I have to log back in and take care of them.

ShellyB is bad at that too, I try to go to her account every now and then and check to see if she has anything pending. She has really bad eyesight as her excuse, me, I have bifocals on, what's my excuse?

*L* I am just oblivious to things, sometimes. I live in my own head some days. That is my excuse. I have to say that my eyes have wondered to that little corner more times today than it has the whole time I have been here. Some times these darn discussions get stuck in your head like an annoying song that you don't really want to sing all day.*L*

Actually there are not a lot of areas to look out for when posting for Mylot. Things are quite organized. The front page allows me a place to "work" from, and is a good starting ground for finding new and interesting discussions. I do agree that friend requests and messages from friends are not very obvious sometimes, especially if we are focusing on creating and responding to discussions here in Mylot. If the administrator(s) is/are looking at this, I suggest having a javascript popup whenever an event like friend requests occur. This will allow Mylot members to be able to respond to them quicker and easier. Just a thought.

True, they are not as obvious as they could be. A pop up might not work as so many internet surfers have a pop up blocker and still would not get the hint

I really like to be observant and observe everything. A long time I could be driving down the road and notice a squirrel in a tree on the side of the road. I try to pay attention to details on the websites because there might be someway you can get more points or more cents.

I am much more observant offline than on, I'm afraid. Maybe I get in too big of a hurry to get to the discussions or responses. More point or cents is always worth looking out for

I notice friend requests and messages pretty quickly. Noticing responses to discussions (mine or others that I've responded to), depends on where I am and what I'm doing.

If in this case which you had mentioned above,I think I am more observant than you, lol. I never miss all the small columns in Mylot. I will always accept friend requests immediately after I have noticed them. But besides Mylot stuff, sometimes I can be less observant in certain things especially in my job. Sometimes I will tend to miss out something important in certain documents. To avoid this,I always double check my work before I finalize it.
