being self employed is a good thing for you if you dont like being told what to do,you are your own boss but you do have to get your own work.which can prove difficult sometimes you never know what you earn from one week to the other.

I agree with your opinion. Self employed is a good when compared to work in office that means working under one boss. Actually it is difficult for me. We don't explore our ideas while you are working in some other place. If self employed we know any thing from search engines and friends. I thing self employment is good.

I agree... office work makes you stagnant because you're doing the same thing again and again. Being self-employed you are free to try new things. Take me, for example. I am a freelance writer. I get to write different topics everyday.

Thats great. You are writing different topics. I was not that much creative when compared to you. I do some online bussiness and so. Happy to have your comment. Thank you. Your PC could be a cash machine. Look at my profile to know how.

I am self employed. I love it because I can work whenever I want. If I want a day off to do activism, I can take it. However, you're right. It's difficult to find work. Companies you work for are always restructuring and may not need you from week to week. But it's worth all the struggle, in my opinion. I would not like to work in an office where someone dictated my schedule. On the other hand, maybe I would like a steady paycheck. Everything has its trade offs.

I've been self employed for ten years now. I have had some difficulties during that time, but I would not want to go back to working for someone else. I don't mind working longer hours for less money, I get more satisfaction from my work, and I get to keep every penny I earn, except for what I need to pay in tax! I am not doing the same work now as I was ten years ago and I don't just make money from one occupation, I try to have as many sources of income as I can, so if one dries up, I still get paid from my other activities.

I am in Real estate and I am self employed. Poeple think we work for the brokers or companies, but we do not. We are independent contractors and pay all of our own expenses. We have to pay our own taxes and social security out of our commissions. But it is better than working for somone else, but it is harder and you can only blame yourself if you do not make money. BUT you also can make your own hours. I prefer it this way.
