Who Left The Toilet Bowl Lid Up? (The one with hole in it)

I guess I am superstitious I looked at the number of post and responses I had and it said 666..I have to get off this number fast and I decided to start a discussion and guess what I thought of? This.. Ladies when males are present in your home husband, sons etc, have you went to use the toilet and they left the lid up (the one with hole in it) you sit down without noticing it and bam your behind is down in toilet bowl. This happened to me when my son was living with me, I get up to use the bathroom at night, and didn't turn the light on in the bathroom and sit my backside down in that toilet bowl, once the water starts flowing it is hard to stop it. You have to sit there until you finish. Have this happened to you?

HaHa. That's funny. Sorry, it just made me laugh. I don't have that problem. My husband never leaves the toilet seat up. My sons never did either. I guess I'm just lucky in that way. It's funny tho, my son-in-law sometimes leaves the lid up and sometimes my son's girlfriend does. (not the part with the hole but the cover). I can never understand why they do that.

hi chevee oh my have i been there and thats one more reason I' am glad I have my own bathroom here. Many times my husband or my son had forgotten again and there I sat with my rear end wet and not able to get up until I was through. and pleading the cause did no good at all. they still left the lid up so once again I was sitting in the damp. yuck.Maybe someone should write a song about it like Who Let The Dogs Out, only it would be Who Left the toilet bowl lid up? lol

Growing up with brothers this happened a lot in our household. Not fun! I am proud to say that my son always puts the toilet seat and lid down after. Well, ok we have pets so have to keep the lids down, so it is for the pets that he does it and not out of courtesy to me, but still.... :-)

Yes, that has happened to me, but it was years ago. I live in an all female household now; but when I was a child, I use to fall into the toilet all the time. Males are also bad about missing their target or splattering, but we love them anyway.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. My fiance does the same thing so that when I get up in the middle of the night I end up with a wet rear end too. Plus, even if he leaves it down the dog comes and drinks out of it and makes the seat all wet and then I end up with a wet butt anyway...so sad.

My boyfriend on occasion leaves the seat up but I am trying to train him to put it back down after. I have often gone to lift the toilet lid up and lifted both the lid and the seat at the same time and didnt realise until I sat down and nearly fell in!! lol Why cant they leave things as they find it?? They find it down so they should leave it down after they have lifted it up!!! I guess this is something we will always moan about!!

I believe this has happened to every woman who is a mother and a wife.. It is an age old phenomena and I don't think it will ever be changed.. Women will still be sitting in a toilet bowl of ice cold water as long as the world is standing and there are men still inhabiting the earth, it is our lot on life.. We must be paying for some unforgivable sin as this is something that we will never change as long as we live.. I guess we will have to learn to live with it even though we don't have to like it

yes i know how the superstition works. i also freaked. i still knock on wood but it doesnt seem to help. also, i had problems with the toilet seat at my daughters. her boys would not raise the seat and thats disgusting to sit on a nasty wet seat. i had to remember to look every time. until i started telling their dad he needs to teach them common hygeine. that worked

I usually look before sitting. I haven't experience that yet. I always switch on the light at night. Making sure where I will be sitting. I'm afraid that there could be lizards, or some insects inside the bathroom. Sometimes there are lizards there too.

Even worse is that split second when the seat you expected to land on isn't there - just before your bottom hits the water. It's that same jarring 'Oh, no!' you get when you go to sit and the chair isn't there - before you hit the floor but after you realize that the seat's not where it should be. Or the jar you get when you put your foot down one more step on the staircase, but you're already at the bottom - surely I'm not the only klutz that's ever done that?

Yes, of course it's happened to me too. Not too many times, maybe a few. I don't know what's worse falling through when the seat is up or sitting on the seat and discovering that someone has "tinkled" on the seat. It's just not a good feeling.

I've had that happen to me when visiting an aunt or my grandparents. It just puzzles me how people cant just put the seat back down when they;re done. The only time its happened at my house was quite a shocker because I live alone and I'm female...but A friend had been over with her boyfriend and he didnt bother to put the seat back down. I'm of a habit to not turn the light on when i go to bathroom at night cause i cant see even if i do cause I dont bother to put on my glasses so..it was quite the shock. I was VERY glad the toilet had been flushed but i still had a shower afterwards!
