Do you give alms to beggar?

Begging in the street has become an occupation nowadays. Some beggars do look nice and strong enough to find legitimate jobs. But they just won't. I guess they're thinking it's easier to beg for money. I give alms to beggars, especially if what they are asking for is food, but not to those who are just lazy enough to find work. If you happen to pass by one, would you give alms too?

I don't really give alms to beggars. Especially to those who would ask for a specific amount or to one who you could still consider strong enough to work. Although in some instances, I do. But depends on who is begging and how one begs. Since I usually have food in back pack, If one asks for food, I would rather give them food than money. But generally i don't bother. Giving them alms means tolerating them to be lazy.

first i will see if theya re still young and strong enough i won't, but if it's an old man or women i will especially if that person is abnormal like doesn't have leg or something like that. i think someone that strong enough is can take a job or follow the government plan, just like in my country.

I usually give alms to very old people or children ,mostly in the form of food and very less times money.but i never provide alms to young people who are strong enough to work.

I generally will not give money to someone who comes up to me and hassles me for it; but I WILL sometimes give money to people when I walk past them and can see they are old or disabled and obviously struggling in life. I feel much better doing things this way because many beggars are a part of a network that makes big money from this; and as a foreigner I am always being pushed harder for money than any local person would be.

I'm the type of person who easily get affected if I see some beggars in the street. Especially if the beggar is an old man, a mother and her infant malnourished child and some handicap beggar. I will give them alms as long that i have money in my pocket. I always pity them because life is very hard on them and they have nobody to turn to for help. But i don't give alms to beggars who have strong and healthy bodies because if they only choose they can find employment and they can still feed themselves. I just don't understand why some beggars opted to beg for money in the street while they can find job after all.

I would give alms only to one who is extremely old or one who is hanicapped in some way. There are so many of them today who are fit enough to take up some work, but will not do it as they find begging an easier way to live.
