I am a divorced woman and had recently lost my dad after years of sickness. My mom has been strong up till now but the holidays are going to be tough. I have no brothers, sisters or children. I need something to do with my mom that will keep us occupied on Thanksgiving. Mom doesn't want to have family over or go to someones house & I dont think that us two being home alone on the holiday will be mentally/physically sound. Any suggestions? I just started working after a period of unemployment an a small budget is a must! Any suggestions?

The first Thanksgiving my husband was deployed I felt the same way. I didn't want to be around anyone who would pity me plus it felt strange him not being there. So I volunteered at a homeless shelter. It will make you feel better about yourself and make you feel useful. Then you can come home and have a Thanksgiving dinner of Cornish hen and a few sides for under $25.

I was pregnant the first yr and that was my duedate. This will be our 4th yr im not sure if we will cook at home or just go again? the food was really good it just stinks not to have leftovers. Happy holidays and the best of luck :)
