My first best friend I had for about 26 years (we met when we were 4). Then I moved and we lost track of each other. I haven't been in contact with her in years. How about you? How long have you had your best friend? When did you meet? Why do you think it's lasted this long?

My best friend and I have been friends for 20 years. I moved to a new city when I was 8 years old and went to a new school. She always made me feel welcome. We were very close all through elementary school. We went to different high schools and lost touch after our first year. I saw her again in college and we started hanging out again. Then she was the maid of honor in my wedding and I will be the matron of honor in hers in a couple of weeks. We have always been there for each other and even though we don't have the same biological parents, we are more like sisters.

It's really cool how you went in and out of each others lives. But you remained best friends. Pretty strong bond there, I'd say.

Hello, I have 2 best friends. My male best friend I have known since he was 1 and I was 2. He lived 2 houses away from me my entire life. We have known each other a total of 25 years. We have both been through some rough times but have always managed to stay friends. He's like a brother to me so we can say whatever we want to each other and will still always be there for each other. We will never fall apart. My female best friend and I met in grade 2. So in total we have been friends for 18 years. She has moved around alot but no matter the distance, we are still there for each other and will never fall apart either. I cant see my life without either of them in it. They are both my very best friends and that's the way it will always be.

My best friend and I never had a fight in all the years we knew each other! can you believe it? It's easier to let friendships slide after you are married and have kids. My husband is my best friend now, even though I have many other friends. Your world can become much smaller. You really have to make a big effort to stay in touch with people. I'm sure after all the kids are gone, we'll make the time again.
