My very best friend in the whole wide world is turning 40 next month. I love this woman like a sister, and 40 is a big birthday. I wanted to do something really special for her, but I don't know what to get or what to do. I am so not good at this kind of thing. Do you mylotters have any suggestions??

Ask her questions with out being obvious. Maybe she has always wanted to eat at a certain restaurant but hasn't gotten around to it. Or maybe she has always wanted to go for a hot air balloon ride? Find out what she wants to do and make it happen. Good luck and happy 40Th to your friend!

Hi ma, how are you ? I dont know if your friend like spas and massages.Maybe set it for her to go one of those beauty spas where you get massages and all the works.I've never had one but its a suggestion.I think she would really enjoy that especially if she has never had one before. You will come up with something for your friend.

she would loved that and i looked into it. but man oh man it is costly. so i think something a bit less costly would be something i can do. but i think that is something i am going to do for use early next year. you know, tax time! LOL

I would get her something PRETTY. A friend made my day last year by giving me sparkly earrings and a big bouquet of flowers. 40 is a hard one (believe me, I took it hard). Maybe a nice girl's dinner out would be nice.

Hey momma, well it would really depend on what she likes. My first choice would be some kind of jewelry, like some sort of charm that represents something about your friendship. If you don't really know what she would like you can always hint around, but being that she is your best friend and you know her really well you probably will be able to think of something that she really wants. You can never go wrong with a bottle of her favorite perfume. I'm still leaning towards the charm or some piece of jewelry. I guess because that's what I always want!

Browse your local art galleries to get her a work of art. Or go to a ceramic making place where you can make her a special coffee cup that you painted. My favorite present is a piece of art made by my sister. It is a little hand painted (wood) fleur-de-lis. I love it because she made it especially for me. Get together a girls only party at a local fun restaurant and have the guests bring presents for the birthday girl. My friends always feel special with the girl's night out party and party favors. I like to send invites and surprise my birthday friend.

I would get her a gift card for her favorite store or restaurant. I would even buy myself something like that too if I had the money to. I would then go shop with her or out to eat if she wants to.

you know she is going on a cruise, so maybe a giftcard would be a great idea so she can get things to take with her!!

Well, she is your friend. So you should know her better in terms of her likes and dislikes. How bout some quality time together in a spa? Or a day out doing nothing else but shopping, having tea or even just trying out dresses together in some boutique? Or if you are the homely type, gather a few close friends to cook something up and then a get together session at one of your homes to celebrate her birthday? Or heck, what does she like? Gather your friends and each of you chip in a little to get her that expensive thing that she has been eyeing for for a long time already....

Well, me and my friend, we get each other nifty and cool stuff, little gadgets and toys. That kind of stuff is mostly good for almost anybody. But I think you should get your friend tickets to some play or something that you both would enjoy so you could spend the day together. Well, you could also get her some jewelry or something with a 40 on it, if you want to get creative, too. IF she does not have a party, throw her one or go out to dinner with her on her special day if she's not doing anything else.
