Do you count the change you get back from buying something right away or do you

Too much money - Do you count your change?

just put it in your pocket or count it when you get outside? If you received too much change during a transaction when you buy something would you let the clerk know, or if you were outside, would you bring it back? As much as I need extra money, I would not keep the money, I would let the clerk know that they gave me too much change and move on. If it were change, like a penny or a nickel even a quarter, I might not realize it until later, because I do not count my change when I get it, but if it were dollars I would definitely return it. What about you, would you return the money if you received too much change?

I am in a habit of counting the money later at home and even then I usually on count it after our change jar has a bit in it. If I were to notice it automatically I would definitely let them know, even if I were outside I think I would tell them as everyone is very friendly where I live. If I were in a different county or something, then I would hesitate and most likely keep the change. I wonder if many businesses loose money like that, a customer noticed an error but the cashier was so nasty they went on without returning the money that was owed.

Yeah, I have a bad habit of not counting my change inside of the store. Only way I would notice is if say for instance I bought that cost over $10.00, and paid with $20.00, and the cashier gives me back a twenty, that would catch my eye right away, but normally I just fold it up and go on my merry way.

I would most likely return it, unless I was unsure. If I was unsure I wouldn't want to give them money that belongs to me back. I usually count the bills when I get them back, but I usually do not count the coins at all. A lot of time I am keeping a close eye on them as they are getting the change out of the cash register. I still can't believe people need to actually look at the register to figure out change.
