when given a choice when booking a room at a hotel and you are given a choice of a view or not which do you choose? view or none? poolside or not? ground floor or upstairs? or do you just say GIVE ME A BED!! and fall asleep as soon as you hit the pillow? unless i am there for like a honeymoon or romantic get away i dont care anything about view or placement.. but i guess if you have kids then pool side would be nice.. what would you guys choose? or do you care?

Well, if I am paying the same price for it, then of course I would prefer to have a room with a view. But if there is a price difference, it would really depend on the purpose of getting that room. And also the availability of the room too as well. If it is just to sleep, then as long as the room is airy, I do not mind. Don't want to pay for a room that is stuffy and hot and not able to sleep comfortably.

Yeah... especially if you are on a trip and need to spend the money from your own pocket. Every cent saved is an extra cent in the bank. So if it is just for sleeping, as long as it is a decent room, it doesn't really matter. But if you are there on a holiday, then it may become a different story. Also, again depending on how much time you are going to spend in the room that makes the difference.

Hi there, I usually book my hotel accommodation for my domestic vacation online. I like to pick hotel room with view and I prefer to pay a few more dollars for it. I would feel uneasy to stay in a room without view but seeing the windows of other rooms opposite While doing my check in at the counter I would like to ask for a room with mountain or sea view as well as in the upper stairs. I could get farther and better view of the beautiful natural landscape to stay in the room in the upper floor posting and have a nice day.

i guess it really does depend on where the hotel is at.. most of the hotels i stay in are off the interstate so its not like there is much to look at in any direction so maybe pool view or something.. but if i was at a place with the potential of good views of mountains and etc i might want one more then

If they are the same price I would take the room with a view. It is nice to be able to see soemthing when you look out the window. I dont usually sleep very well when I go to hotels so if I can have soemthing to look at I like it better.

well, i am the 'give me a bed' person. it's not necessary at all to get a poolside room. i cannot swim anyway i will just make sure that my room have a nice and clean bathroom and toilet. everywhere, i would use toilet very often and i cannot stand a dirty toilet the other things don't matter. if i need to get entertained, i can go out and look for it.

hello... i prefer the one with the view but noy on the poolside.. for me its a bit noisy when my window is in the poolside. i like my room on a higher floor because is the higher the floor the better view i get... coz sometimes when i am thinking of something i always look at the window... makes me more relaxed.happy posting...

I am very particular about the view when I book into a hotel. Particularly if I am going to be there for many days. I have on occasions got the room changed because I did not like the scenery. The poolside is the best scenery I like.

I usually prefer rooms with a hillside view - this is quieter; and on the higher floors. I once was given a room on the ground floor, looking out to the gardens, near to the beach. I was so worried of break-ins through the glass doors, that I couldn't sleep that night.
