Lines and Lines of Discussions....

I started some discussions that were very lengthy the other day (more than 20 or 30 lines), and got a decent amount of responses. Then another day I started some discussions that were somewhat brief (3-6 lines or so) which also accumulated a decent amount of responses, about the same amount as the more lengthy discussions.
However, the shorter discussions of only a few lines earned me far more money than the longer discussions, which I find odd. MyLot sure does work in mysterious ways! No more lengthy discussions for me for awhile -- I will try to keep them shorter!

This always make me wonder when I see people making posts like this, how do you know which post or discussion is making you the most amount of money as mylot only updates your earn once a day and it doesn't tell you oh by the way you got .01cent for this post but you got .10 for another??? So just always wondered how you work out which one it is that you made the money on because as you already said people are still making replies and if you have more then one discussion going at once you could know where that money was going?

Personally, I think this is the mystery of myLot altogether. If anyone could figure out how we get paid on here, and what discussions earn us the most, there would be many more people in here earning a lot more than what they do. I have been here for 23 months now, and I personally cannot figure out the pay structure here, and know it varies all of the time. I just continue to be active in here when I can, and hope for the best.

Same here. I enjoy my time here, and the money is a very nice bonus.

i also wonder how really mylot counts the lines and why some short discussions earns more than the long ones. maybe it depends on how you explain. if we explain it straight but brief then we get more. just my thinking. maybe it is always based on how we explain it. there are discussions that are long but not explained properly. i makes sure that i think about what to start. but sometimes we get so excited with our discussion that we tend to type a lot. lol

I don't blame you there. If short does it and you are looking to get money from it; then that's the best solution.
I also have noticed trends on here. I am still experimenting to see which ones have the most benefit here. I enjoy the ones from friends either way though. Take care.

i am new to mylot but i love it! it is such a neat idea where people can just come talk about whatever they want with others from all over the world and to get paid for it is just an added bonus! i am really looking forward to being a part of this site more often!

It does doesn't it. Perhaps none of us will truly know how we are paid, only that we are given something each day.

I just write what I think is appropriate for my discussion, the whole idea is to get your point across sometimes it can be in a few lines sometimes it requires more detail, I still believe in quality

Hi Bethany,
I don't think that we get responses according to the length of the discussion. I think that it has to do whether the post had a catchy headline or not, whether it attracts the interest of the individual or not. Yes I must admit that a page's length post may deter certain users from continuing to read your post till the end and may skip to the next post.

Hi Bethany,
I haven't tried having 20-30 lines in my post! The average I have is between 5-8 only and I am maintaining an income each day!
ANyway, I guess no one really knows how we are pain here but at least you got a hint from experience!
My previous post when I started is 1-3 lines only and the most I am earning less than a dollar each day! Maintaining 4-5 lines both in post and responses give me a good income each day!
