Ok I started a discussion and got a response I go look at it and it is a newbie..... only has 1 post and they post something that has nothing to do with my discussion?! Why do they do this? Did they not understand the purpose? Ok thanks for letting me vent.

I know I was a newbie once too but I never did anything like that. I did do the old yes or no question route when responding but I wised up fast and avoid those like the plague.

Just give them a chance Sweetdesign, they'll get it! When I started I was all over the place too, fortunately my oldest daughter hooked me up with myLot and she showed me the way. Be patient...newbies will be alright! ~g~

I don't think that they really understand how this site works to be honest. When I first came here I was really confuzzled! I figured this site was just a bunch of money motivated people who wanted my referral links LOL but thats only because the guy who reffered me told me that. I guess thats one reason. This site really isn't the talk of the town. I mean I love it and tell everyone but I don't think others really use it! Anyway hope that answer helps hehe! better luck in the future! Happy mylotting!

Some forums allow that nonsense. Post equals point equals money. No purpose. Lots of people do not realize that MyLot is different. A lot of new people are just here to see how much they can earn. We know better. If they are too obnoxious, I mark them abusive.

I figured they just wanted to post a short phrase and do it alot and "earn" money which is not how it is done here in Mylot.

We were all newbies at one point so need to cut them a little slack and even give them some tips on how things work here in mylotland. I do that if I see a newbie responded to one of my discussions instead of saying 'duhhhhhh'. I remember when I first came here. I didn't even respond to any discussions at first. Just read the post and the responses to get a feel of this place before sticking my foot in my mouth right away. lol

I was just irritated that day. Today I was kinder and pointed out to one that it is not polite to copy the posters words ver batum as your response and that perhaps they should read the rules again and come back and join us with thier own words that we would like to hear.

You are welcome sweet, but do you know that venting is not a discussion? A discussion pretty much has to have some statement of cause and effect and then go on to solicit a thoughtful response. But back to your question, in all probability they do not understand the purpose. Perhaps it would be an act of charity, though, when newbies do this to welcome them to myLot and then post the link to the myLot Guidelines with a polite suggestion that they read them. Hey, weren't you a newbie not long ago? I was!

As you can see I am pretty new to this put I cottoned on quite quickly that you have to give a really good reply not just a few words about anything. Perhaps they did not understand what they were doing and had not read the guidelines. Hopefully they will have realised what is going on here by now. Good luck with your other discussions.

We were all newbies once, and we all caught on. You and I are both well over 1,000, and we are people that people on MyLot seem to like. How often has this happened to you? That hasn't happened to me yet, but if it did, I would give it a negative raiting, and report it as SPAM, and then get on with it.
