... Bridge, that is?! There is a bridge in the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco, CA that is called the Moon Bridge. It is so cool but very difficult to climb over. It is extremely steep going up & coming back down. I made it, but it wasn't easy! LoL! Have you ever been on this Moon Bridge?

Hi Koalatbs,
Wow! that sounds fantastic, I would have love to go to that bridge 'Moon Bridge' I live in the U.K so would be a long way to for me to go, just to climb the bridge, briliant though.

Hi tamarafireheart - Yes, I guess travelling all the way from the U.K. just to see the Moon Bridge at the Japanese Tea Garden would be a little too far. But, if you ever visit the San Francisco area, I would highly recommend taking a self-guided tour around the tea gardens. It's located at Golden Gate Park. Speaking of which, the Golden Gate Bridge that connects downtown San Francisco to Sausilito is really beautiful too! Hope you get to visit one day. I'd love to come see the U.K. as well.

Hi koalatbs,
I don't think I will get to San Francisco in this life time but I have aways wanted to go there, if you ever come to the U.K you can just look me up and keep in touch.

Very catchy title. Yes, I've been to that lovely place, but I guess I am part mountain goat, because I love to climb on stuff like that and scamper over such things with glee. Here is a photo from a different angle, courtesy of Wikipedia:

Excellent discussion!

It was a long time ago and it wasn't quite such a tourist attraction when we went. There was no tea and cookies. In fact the place was pretty overrun with weeds. But I am nuts about Japanese Gardens and knew it was there from long ago, so we went hunting for it. I guess the man who sold his rice fields in Japan to get the money to buy materials to construct it did not start getting proper recognition until this century! It is a beautiful place, isn't it drannhh?! How long ago were you there? To tell you the truth, I wasn't too keen on going there that day... I was in kinda a bad mood and thought the Japanese Tea Garden would be really boring. LoL! But, after getting there and walking around for a little while I came out of it and really enjoyed myself. As you can see, I took a lot of pictures. It was really neat. I'd like to go back again some day to tackle that Moon Bridge again!
LoL!

Why do you say that your life is a Moon Bridge habichuelo??! Has it been a steep climb up and then a big fall down after getting to the top? I've been up and down like that many times in my life too. Whether you meant it or not... that is a good analogy!

Do you have a picture? I have never been, but it sounds very cool. Why is it so very steep? I am amazed that no one has decided to make it handicap accessible because of the Americans with Disabilities Act. We had a little bridge to an island in one of our parks and it was very steep. They called the island the Japanese Gardens. Well, lo and behold, it is no longer a Japanese garden, and we no longer have a curved little bridge, we have a flat straight bridge. 'Scuse the rant.

I may have been too tired, or I may have been having trouble with my computer. I went and left a comment there. It is beautiful, and much more steep than the one we had here.

Hi GardenGerty - I did attach a photo of the Moon Bridge to this post. Didn't you see it? It is just underneath my initial posting. Maybe you just didn't see it. If you check and do not see it please let me know. That is something about the bridge that u were telling me about. I guess it is understandable in a way to make it accessible for everybody, but couldn't they have just put a straight bridge right next to it or near it so that the original (unique) bridge could have stayed too?! That would have been the best alternative, I think anyway. Hope you are having a good day. Take care.

Sounds like you had to walk uphill both ways. LOL. No, I'm from northern California, but I never have made it to the Japanese Tea Gardens and in fact have never heard of this bridge. If its uphill both ways though, I think I'll just listen to you talk about it. RFLMAO.

LoL! Oh yes, it was a killer trying to go up and down it kbourgerie! I almost didn't even try. My son, who was 12 at the time, had no problem whatsoever, of course. Youth... isn't it wonderful?! It is a really cool bridge though. I think I remember that I had to go down the moon bridge backwards and hold on real tight. My husband was waiting down below and helped me so I wouldn't fall.

I haven't been on the moon bridage. However, I used to go to a moom bridge in my hometown. Usually, it was a little windy, I watched the river on the bridge. My city shared a boundary with another country. Thus, I sometimes just wondered, what were the foreigners doing? Also, u know, the birds don't need to own green cards. I like watching the foreign birds flied from the other side to my country

Hi littleowl - Yes, you are right... the moon bridge is definitely very memorable. When you see things that are so different from anything else you've ever seen before, they do tend to be much more memorable. I love to sightsee and go to very unique places. I cannot wait to do some more traveling... especially abroad. Maybe some day...

No but I have seen it, it's a real beauty. I had a dream I went to the moon when I was about 10, I had just been to a movie, I don't remember the name but it was about a wonderful voyage to the moon, so I had the dream, several nights in a row.
Has anything like that happened to you?
