Ripe Figs Onion Brown Sugar (Chili Oil Optional) 1. fry up some onions - red, brown, yellow - about a cup's worth, use very little oil. 2. take some ripe figs, about a cup, cut into quarters 3. add figs to cooked onions and cover over low heat 4. when all is wilted and cooked, remove from heat 5. take cooked onion / fig and blend well, blender of chopper works good 6. put mixture back into frying pan, add a few teaspoons of water and cook to boil 7. add a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar, mix and remove from heat 8. add a few drops of chili oil to taste, optional 9. cool or refrigerate The result is something like peanut butter. You can use it instead of mayo on a sandwich or as a salad dressing or a sauce over poached chicken or... Mmmmm Good.

Hmm, that sounds pretty good. I never know what to do with figs when people with fig trees give them to me. Would it taste good if it was unblended and just used as a topping on something?

Have not tried it unblended, I suppose as it would work as defined.
