Would you give up your cell phone?

If the government said that it would improve the economy to give up the internet, and cell phones.Suppose it could go back to $1.39 a gallon for gasoline, and milk would be $1.00 a gallon. The cost of everything has gone up so much and promises to go even higher.I know giving up cell phones and the internet wouldn't change anything I am just curious how many people would rather go back to things not being so convenient if it met prices would go down.

Giving up my cell phone wouldn't take that much. I hate that I can be interrupted so easily, and I keep it turned off unless I'm in the car (accidents happen) or in need of directions or something like that. If I'm expecting a really urgall and I can't get home on time, I forward the home phone to the cell. I'd happily give it up entirely if it didn't represent safety.

No internet would certainly be a handicap, but at least we can access it as we wish. It's not intrusive, as cell phones are. If it were, I'd probably want a return to the days before Gates and Jobs!

Well, that would be easy for me to give up my cell phone. I use it mostly for calling hubby if I'm running late. He can just wait for me, or I could use a pay phone. But I know some people who would never, ever give up their cell phones. Heck I have 1 friend that has 2 of the darn things, for reasons I still can't fathom. She tex messages like her life depended on it. Now the internet on the other hand saves me soo much money that I don't think it would be worth it to give it up. I can usually find things much cheaper online than I can in the stores around her, so in the end I save more than I spend on gas, plus I don't have to use the car as much by getting things sent to me instead of going all over the city trying to find the best price.

Well I don't own a cellphone, and haven't for years. I don't plan on getting one anytime soon either. I have no use for it. I'm always home, and rarely get phone calls except for when hubby calls from work. The only time I ever do wish I had one was when I'm having car troubles while out and about. But other than that a cellphone is not a necessity or even a convenience, I think they're actually annoying and rather rude when people are talking on them. Now as far as the internet goes, I don't think I can live without that. It's not just a convenience, it's much more than that. I can get on and check the weather instead of waiting for the news to get to the weather. I can check school closings, my bank account, find phone numbers and even menus when I want to order out. I can also keep in touch with my friends and meet new ones. Not to mention make a bit of money on Mylot. I also belong to Freecycle where I can get free items for my family such as clothing and whatever else people feel like giving away. I spend most of my day online, it's more of a way of life for me. I don't think I could give that up.

I don't think its proper to give up cellphones and internet. As what all people knows, it is a BIG help to everyone. Makes things work easier. I think cellphones and internet help the economy to be better in terms of tax. The more you spend with your internet and cellphone bills, the more you pay the tax. So where do you think the tax go? to the community as well.

I would gladly give up the cell phone, as I have a telephone in the house and that's good enough for me As for the internet, now that I wouldn't give up, since this is where I make my spending cash.

Well I dont have a cell phone to give up so its not a biggie for me LOL In fact I've never owned a cell phone! As for the internet though, well that would be a bit tough because I do stay in touch with family and friends this way and i make my pocket money online too BUT if it were a for sure that the cost of living would go down I'd make it work I think..

I could do that. I thing things were more convenient before, without cells and internet, since people could communicate with other ways. Moreover, relationships were closer than today, since communication was better and personal.

Give up the cell phone and internet. No way. Not the way my landline keeps acting up. Without internet, I can't get my college work done or read my email, talk to friends overseas. Nope, no way. There are other ways to get prices down, for one reduce the cost of the internet service.

Hello!!!!In my case, today I can't live without a mobile phone. It has become a necessity for me. If I leave my house without it I would just turn back for it. Even with the internet, it is the same story.

I would have no problem giving up my cell phone. It would be harder to give up internet but I would for the greater good. It would be nice if things were less expensive and more people could buy the items that they need (not unnecessary items like ipods, expensive cars, jewelry or expensive shoes). There are so many people that go without the basics everyday and it's so sad. I am blessed to have the things I need from day to day to survive but I see so many others that do not. So if I had to give up a few conveniences so that we can all get what we need and not be so stressed about where the next meal is coming from, Yes, I would give them up in a heartbeat.

I would give up cellphone since I dont text that much anymore. But not the Internet. No way! hahaha. Well if prices will be fixed and will no longer get high in the next 100 years, I'll give up the internet. But that will be impossible, so just the cellphone.
