Do you take the same way home everyday from work, school?

September 22, 2008 Or are you a trail blazer? Are you so steeped in your routine that if you deviated you might find yourself lost and couldn’t make it back home? I know that some of you have a boring highway drive and the side streets are your only bright spot, but is there another way home from your morning commute?

I go home in different houses,. lol, when I used to live with my boyfriend he would pick up everyday, but now I would just commute and go home to my parents or to my friend's house. I can say that I do this recently almost everyday. Sometimes I would try different route, like, maybe I could use anpther means of transpo, or just walk. I try to avoid possible accidents as you may know, there's danger on the streets.

Yup, I would often take the same way home from the office, as this is the shortest distance. Unless there is an accident or a bad traffic jam, I wouldn't use another route. And it has become a robotic response - I'd automatically take the turns and travel the same route without thinking !

There is two ways to my home. But one is closer while the other is more out of the way. It is good to get a change of scenery once in awhile that is why Sunday drives could be helpful. But with gas prices on the rise people are taking shortcuts as much as possible nowdays I would imagine.

There are two roads that lead to my apartment from work... and three ways that i can get there... either by walking... tricycle... or by jeepney... but i would always walk... and take one road today... and the other road the next day... but if it is raining... or it is just too hot for me to walk... i take the tricycle... because it will take me right in front of my apartment building...

There are a few different ways I can go home, and I try to take different ways home so I don't get bored, and to see whats new around me.

I'm not a commuter, so the only thing I do is my daily walk. I do have a certain route, but sometimes, when I'm feeling really bored, I do it backwards. Not walking backwards so I can't see - just going in the opposite direction. It's strange how the same route looks and feels totally different when you are going in the opposite direction. The gradient of the roads and paths is different, and you see the houses and gardens from a different angle and don't recognise them. Plus, I can then drop in to the fast food place for a cold drink, as I'm close to home by then!

I would look to get away from the monotony of the daily route back home and look for new ones whenever i can. It's after trying out all the posibilities that i normally decide on one. At the same time take the opportunity to do things differently once in a while. I try to extend this concept to other things in life as well.

Yes i normally take the same route from my home to office and vice versa. However if there are some traffic jams which are quite common here i do know alternative route's to move home quickly. Some of the famous grounds where lot of cultural festivals take place come in the way and whenever such festivals are announced it is sure that the area would be having heavy traffic and so i take to other routes in those days.

I take the same way home because it is direct and short. There is another way home too but it is double the distance.I would rather reach home fast and spend the saved time on my recreation than waste my time taking the longer route home.

I've always tried to find alternative ways to get to work and back, whether travelling by car, bike or foot! As soon as I know all the routes I can use I only use the quickest route if I'm in a hurry. Perhaps it's because I have moved around a lot and love exploring, or perhaps I just get bored easily! LOL. The quickest route is the straightest and straight is boring!

I travel to work and back 3 times a day and very quickly got bored of the same scenery. Don't you get bored seeing the same thing everyday?

When I had a regular commute I would take a different way regularly even if it was a bit out of the way. I was blessed though with really beautiful scenery driving to and from work most of my working life. Maybe some of the credit is due to me as this was more by design than fate.

I take a direct bus to work, and the same bus home too.. So there's no other way for me to try out another route to go work or home since most of the buses ply the same route.. haha =D BUt in terms of running, i'm much more daring to try out many other new routes to a place or to my house, because i see it as a challenge, and i dun normally bring any money with me, so that i cant take transport homw if i'm feeling lazy.. lol SO i have no choice but to push myself, and in a way, i will be able to explore alot of new routes or even short cuts to my house from almost everywhere ^_^ hehe

i usually take the same way to school/work and back at home everyday. there are other ways, but i prefer to do it in the most convenient and faster way for me. but if i am about to deviate in my routine, i think i can still be able to arrive in my destination without getting lost or confused.

For me it's pretty simple. I get on a bus and I go a few blocks down the street and get off at my apartment. Getting there means I get on a bus, go a block down the street downtown, then transfer to the next bus, and go six blocks in the other direction. This is extremely easy for me.

I go to the Mall or to the shops near the Mall, and the one to Walmart is different. So I go a different route that way. I vary my route going from the Mall to home. Sometimes I go the main route and sometimes I go along the lane. Sometimes I go across the street, and sometimes I go the lane route there. Sometimes I will go up and down the lane and the other streets. Now I could walk the opposite way, but why? The stores are not interesting that way.

I live and work in a touristy area, and the route I take on my commute is a 4 mile drive which mostly follows along the shore of a Lough (Lake,to the Non-Irish!)I haven't done any exploring on the various side roads on the way in my car,but in the good summer weather I'd been doing my commute on my ebike, and on that,if I had an afternoon off or a few hours break before an evening shift,I've been exploring ALL these side roads! I now know more about the local area's amenities than I've done in years, and have an excellent understanding of the road surface on my route too!

Nope....I hardly ever take the same way home....depends on what I need to do after work...sometimes I have to swing by the post office.....or make other stops....once I get home I stay home for the evening most of the time...so I do go different ways.

I occasionally vary my route home from work. Sometimes, I have errands to run which take me off the beaten path just a little bit. If I want to hurry straight home, I take the interstate and that gets me there in 35 or 40 minutes. If I need to make some stops, like get groceries and gas, I might take the state highway home instead.

I travel to and from work 3 times a day so if I'm walking home I try to vary the route. The most direct is a busy stretch of straight road. Too much traffic and not enough scenery! I like walking and gardens make a good substitute for the Countryside I'd rather be in! I don't know if it's because I've moved a great many times in my life (Hubby was in the RAF) but I've always loved exploring, rarely get lost and I've never been a person of routine! It's hard to be when no-one in the house works a normal 9-5 Monday to Friday job. I wouldn't call myself a trail blazer though. I just get bored very easily!
