How do you know which path to choose?

I need some wise advice from people who've been in the same situation before. I'm a fresh graduate. I worked for two months as a Sales and Management Trainee (my first job) for an International Company but it seemed like 6 months since we work from Mon-Sat 9-10 hours everyday. I would say it was one of the best two months of my life. I never imagined you could learn so much in a span of two months. I got to know myself more. I didn't realized I am capable of doing so much more. I met great people that I look up to who became my good friends. I have the best trainer. The company has a lot to offer. Imagine becoming a branch manager in a period of 6-8 months. Appealing, right? I thought, this is it for me. But something happened along the way that compromised my values as a Christian. I couldn't do anything about it because that's how the system works. As much as I hate to go I have to because I cannot live a double standard kind of life. It's been four months. For the second time around, I found myself in another crossroad. I'm like a lost sheep wandering around clueless of where to go next. How do I know what's next for me? I never realized that the real world is a lot more complicated. I wish I am a student for life. Haha. At least in that way, I don't have to worry about my future.

If the job compromises your moral values then you have to leave. As Jesus said 'of what benefit is it to gain the whole word but to forfeit one's soul.' There will be other jobs, other opportunities. Look at it as an opportunity to branch out to other fields. Wish you success!

Good that you got out of danger. Hopefully at the next job, the atmosphere will be different. Where to go next? Don't forget to petition you heavenly Father through prayer for direction. And at the next job, be more alert, if you sense danger, then move on. God will never abandon those who put faith in Him.

You actually answered your own question. I say become that student for life. Concentrate on God and His ability to teach and guide you. This is the only real answer to living our lives in this world. Without a good working personal relationship with God and Jesus we are lost sheep. If you really want God's help if you are willing to do what ever it take to have it you will have it. The only thing we are really good at is getting our lives so screwed up we can't hardly live with them. You just work on convincing yourself that you can't make it without God's help. God already knows that and as soon as you know it and willing to admit it to god then you will be on your way. Read 1st John chapter 2 verse 27 in the New Testament, (King James Version). This is the true key to everything. Good luck to you and may you walk with God the rest of your life.

You just don't worry about getting into something you might now want to. Like all the rest of us you have probably heard people talk about God wanting them to do something they didn't want to do. This is a bunch of bull. God will never ask you to do anything you wouldn't enjoy doing. He will never force us to do anything. If you don't enjoy doing something for God don't do it because He didn't ask you to do it. He is smart enough to know if we try to do something we don't want to we probably won't do it right anyway. You just free up your mind and let God have His way with you. He will take you where you need to go and have your best interest in mind every step of the way. Be careful about who you listen to. A good working personal relationship with God and Jesus doesn't work like some people will tell you it does. God will always be our best friend but man can very often be our worst enemy.

Thanks for that Arkie. I am trying my best to get atuned with God now. I don't want to get myself into something that I'm not sure if God wants it for me too. That's my prayer too, that I may walk with Him the rest of my life. You too! ;D

I'm not really sure what to tell you. I have chosen many good paths in life and alot of bad paths in my life that I thought was good ones to begin with. I think alot of it is just trial and error just to see what works best for you.

Hi divine, I know what you mean but that is life...Pray for the job you want and no technique in choosing the right path, you will have to choose because you need to grow, survive and enrich your career and of course you will be guided once you will always ask HIS guidance! There is no perfect situation in this world and if ever you will encounter a situation like that, just try to present what you think about it and do what is right!

Between religion and work, u have to decide for yourself which is more important and u have to set your priorities right.. UNless u feel that religion is able to feed u and provide u with eveything u need, then u shall follow your faith.. If not, why will u be confused and lost?? The real world is like that, once u are out of school, u are no more under the protection of teachers and schools, though in the outside world, u are still learning, but the difference now is that u are learning at the expense of something else ^_^ It's time for u to be independent, and learn to make decisions on your own.. What others tell or say to u, can only be reference and those should not be the deciding factor for u ^_^

Hi! Well prayers can do a lot of wonders especially if you're lost in your journey to the right path of your life. But first you must know what you really like to happen next in you life. Where do you really want to go. What's you're real dream. Then after deciding what you will do next, pray and ask God for guidance and signs if you must take the path or not. I have been doing a lot of prayers in my life and it has been working very well. I have the habit of asking God first before I embark into another adventure in my life. He does answer back and give signs. You must really have to be attentive to the signs and listen to your heart deeply. Ciao!

I'm not religious. So I really can't tell you what to do in regards to how your beliefs and values were compromised. The best advice I can give you, is to follow your gut instinct, follow your heart and do what feels right.

You're going to meet that situation everywhere you work and you are the one to make the choices. Some of those choices are going to cost you your job or your friends. And the choice is still yours. If you choose for principle you're a real woman of character. If you choose for convenience you're on the way to becoming a brown-tongued stoolie. And the choice is still yours. Pray and choose to be real. It works. In the end.

Hi divinegwapa, If the job is agaist what you believe in, yes you must give up the job but also listen to your heart and go with because your heart is always right and you r gut feelings. You must go with your Christian values because that is the sort of person you are and don't worry your future has already been maped out for you. Tamara

Divinegwapa , in life there is no better path or right path . It is your decision that will always makes it right . No matter which path you proceed its your choice no one knows whats in the end of the path that is why there is a word such as "CHOOSE". You do what you feel is right according to your values and what the situation is asking for. God doesnt put you there just that he wants you to discover something and better do it .

Imagine you are at the foot of a mountain and trying to see the vast landscape. It is not possible as your view is obscured by the mountain itself. In order to get a better view you must climb the mountain. As you get closer to the top you begin to see things you never knew existed when you were at the foot of the mountain. You stop and take it all in before you make your ascent. Climbing further and seeing more you see how vast the land is with amazement. The moral of this story is that our view is limited and we need to trust God who can see all and knows what the future holds for us. My advice is not to seek advice from others but to seek it from God who is the only one who has a full view. If I were to offer my personal advice it would be to do what is right and for the better good. God has a plan for you and perhaps the path you chose is not the path God has prepared. Perhaps your talents are needed elsewhere in a place you can yet see. God will guide you if you ask. Listen and follow the answer God puts in your heart.
