Do you have a night time routine before going to bed ?

Is there anything you do every night before you go to bed and what is it ? For myself I have the same routine every night , I check all the windows and doors and make sure the stove is off before I go to bed . I make sure the phone is hung up so it will be charged in the morning . I go up and brush my teeth and change , wash up etc . Then I have to go check on my children to make sure they are alright . I tuck my five year old in and whisper goodnight and say I love you Angel and then I check on my younger daughter and tuck her in and whisper goodnight and say I love you Princess then I go in and peek on my son . If he is sleeping well I go in and tell him I love him and tuck him in but if he looks like he will wake I just leave the room because I know he has a hard time getting back to sleep . I do the same thing every night and if I go to bed and forget something , I have to get back up and do what I forgot because I am unable to sleep without doing the same routine every night . It has become a habit , so do you have a nightly routine and what is it ?

for me, i alway check the gates, main door, windows and stove. and since i'm OC (obsessive compulsive), not only do i check it once but i make it a point to check it at least 3 times! even if i'm already all set in my bed and if i think i'm not sure with the checking that i did, i'd force myself up (even if i'm so sleepy) and check it again. i don't know what's up with that but i think it's like a force of nature for me.

I know what you mean it is the same with me , if for some reason I even feel that I forgot to do something I have to get back up and check no matter how tired I am or I will just worry about it and would never be able to go to sleep . Thank you for your response .

I used to do the same routine but now that my children have their own family my routine is less. After dinner.watch tv until 10 or maybe 11pm then wash myself to get a good night sleep. My husband do the checking of doors and windows and make sure stove is off.I pray silently talking to God thanking Him for a wonderful day and may He guide and watch over my children and grandchildren.Till I get myself to sleep .

Yes I do. Some what similar to yours. After having dinner, it's my duty to prepare the bed for wife and 10 month old daughter. Then I want to wash my legs (this in addition to the wash I have after coming to the office). After attending other calls of nature, I check the doors on weekdays and if it is weekends I check all the windows as well. Then I check whether any electric plugs are on. Make sure all the lights are off and then go to bed. I chant few chantings and then sleep.

oh yeah!...i check the windows and doors too, change and arrange my clothes back in the closet,i brush my teeth, comb my hair, remove my makeup, take a shower, put my body lotion,,say good night to my family, turn off my computer..oddly,i enjoy thinking deeply about my everything at night untill i fall sleep....many people say thinking keeps you up,but the opposite is true in my case...and then finally i set my alarm clock(it's funny the way i wake up again many time to make sure it is set right...i guess i am just so concerned about being late for work)...it's my never changable routine for now.

I make a cup of tea before I go to bed. Then I switch off the computer after posting the last message on mylot. I take a shower and I head to bed with a book in my hand. After reading a few pages I end up nodding and I switch off the lights to have a good night rest.

i have a routine. every nite i make sure the kitchen is cleaned after dinner. I iron all the clothes for the next day school and work. I take my shower. then i make sure the dog is put away and has food and water. i then make sure the doors are locked, and all the tv's are off. I then go and make sure my daughter has covers on because she almost never does. I give her a kiss and watch her for a few moments. I then check on my son, who is almost always sleep already. i check the door again, make sure the kitchen night light is on. then i get in the bed. which is most likely by 11:30 pm. to get up at 6 and start my day

Hi samtaylorskykierajen, Yes I guess. I have sort of a night time routine. I would make sure I have my teeth flossed and brushed. And if bathing wasn't the quite last activity before I sleep, I would try to at least wash my face properly as well. Cheers!

Well....I think it's pretty routine what every person does before he/she goes to bed. It is always the usual, brushing of teeth, peeing, etc. I guess the only difference will be whether the person likes to take a bath before going to bed. Like, to sleep in a fresh state or covered in whatever dirt you have on. Also, I guess for me would be that, I always WASH MY FEET before I get on the bed. Washing of feet is a MUST!! Locking up everything, and switching off all the lights, etc. would be the usual. I am still single thus, no children to kiss before I go off into dreamland. Reading a book always helps if I can't seem to fall asleep. Watching tv before I sleep is no good for me. The more I watch, the more I do not want to sleep yet as I would be too tempted to follow the show or whatever is on tv. That is provided, the programme is interesting. A friend of mine actually enjoys a glass of milk with honey before bed. She says that it really helps in getting you off to dreamland. Is that true?

Hi ya samtaylorskykierajen I do check my doors are locked before going to bed and visit the bathroom for various reasons. Sometimes I watch a bit of tv, depends on how tired I am. I don't go in and check on my kids because as I walk up the stairs I can see into their rooms and the snoring tells me that they are alseep and ok as I don't want to enter their room in case I disturb them. No real set rountine really.

I also have a night time routine. before going to bed I would drink something, hot choco or coffee or sometimes tes, then I would wash my face and leave the facial wash while brushing my teeth, then I rinse my face. I'll go pee and wash and then wash my feet thoroughly, I can't sleep when my feet is dirty. Then I go upstairs. In some nights I would be down again, I will have to wash again my feet before going up. Then up again, so in nights where I have to go up and down for three times, I will wash my feet three times too.

I always check first my room if clean, and fixing my things for tomorrows usage. Clean my face and put some cream on it. brush my hair 100 times as they said that it's good for the hair. I am drinking milk even i don't like milk but it's good for the health. afterwards drink my medicine to sleep well.
