Separted or common toilets for men and women?

At our place of work several colleagues complained that our common toilets for men and women, with just a partition in between did not offer much privacy. Due to these complaints the boss ordered that the restroom upstairs will be used by the women, while gents can use the downstairs ones. What is your opinion about this? Would you mind having a common restroom or not?

At my age, it would not bother me in the least. When I was younger, it would. I think it was a good judgment call but why do the women have to have upstairs? It takes longer to remove clothing to go, for most women.

The majority of the women work in the floor upstairs...so as a gentlemen we let them choose which one they preferred.

Well, that was very nice of the men to do that!! I think most people would be more comfortable with separate ones but some places have unisex ones, one room per toilet, rather than stalls.

Well i am hearing this very first time a common bathroom for both ladies and gents. Well i feel as if i am in a different world hearing from you this. Dude i can't say its wrong as a common bathroom may not have a privacy for ladies especially. We boys can do it anywhere but they need some privacy.I hope your boss was correct in taking a step of separation.

I would hate to have to use a common toilet that is divided like the one you have described. If there was one that had to be shared but only accomidated one person at a time then I wouldn't mind sharing. It would be like going at home. I like more privacy when I use the commode.

In my college the men and ladies restrooms are not even separated, because there is only one cabin that both men and women must use... I have no problem with that.

Hi ronaldinu, I would not agree with common restrooms, as it don't provide enough privacy. I can understand why the women would complain. Blessings.

By reason of privacy between two sexes, I think it should really be separated. I admire your Boss for acting positively on complaints like this. While it may not matter to some ... to me I believe there is some kind of inhibitions in females which make it necessary for them to have separate comfort rooms. That is my personal opinion. Have a nice day!

It would depend on the number of men and women who use the restroom. If there was just a few, then I wouldn't mind at all. However, if there was quite a large workforce, then I would certainly like a bit of privacy.

I would prefer separate toilets for men and women. Here where I work, Most of the rest rooms are separate but we have a couple where the restrooms are joint and I really don't like it. One thing that I've noticed, if the rest room is common, the smell is worse than usual. (I guess you know what I mean.Lol.) Plus, I wouldn't want to have a guy around while I'm doing my toiletries. Urk.

I'd rather have separate restrooms but I guess I could deal with having a common one.

In Arab Country we always make it sure that the toilet is separated in each of the way like they would not meet in one floor.... For example if the Woman toilet is in the Ground floor then the Man's toilet would be in another floor and it is more safe and convenient in each of the way and safe......

There should be a separate toilet for men and another for women. I do not want a common toilet, work place staff should always take that in consideration for everyone's privacy. Common toilet can just be fitted for homes and not for work places or public places. And that is also for sanitary purposes.

A common restroom would be fine, where male and female staff can have their coffee breaks together, but as for common toilets .no way.I would find that really hard to accept, imagine going into the toilet and finding a man coming out lol I dont think it sounds right at all, maybe its just me being a bit old fashioned, but surely I cant be the only one who would feel like this.
