After 85 years. This makes me sad. It seems to be the new trend. Tear down a perfectly good stadium, say like they did 2 years ago with the perfectly good 35 year old Bush Stadium and put up a new one. There are some terrific "old school" stadiums around. Which is your favorite? Fenway Park or maybe Wrigley Field? How do you feel about the do away with the old for the new trend?

Just think of all the history they are tearing down. It is a shame when they close these places. They are so much history to be remembered. I feel that is it can still be used then it should be. It might be as fancy as some of the new ones and such but that shouldn't matter. it has a history and family after family has taken their children there to watch a game with them. Yeah it can be done in the new ones as well but they aren't any soul in the new ones just pretty boxes.

Thanks for the best response I appreciate it alot. I wish that places didn't have to be torn down to make way for the future plans of what ever they are planning to rebuild...

Even though im a Redsox fan and absolutley hate the yankees. I do feel bad that there stadium is closing down since its probally the most historic park in all of sports. I dont know why they had to move and I bet the fans dont like it what so ever.

This is so sad that it is closed. It seems like an icon that has been there for ever. I do not have a favorite. I have been to the Dodger Field, San Diego and Candelstick (which was cold year round). But I have never had a favorite.

Oh really. I hadn't heard this. I have not kept up to date with any news about much of anything recently. I have been just too busy lately. I haven't been to any stadiums that I can recall.

Mine isn't old school (it's only fourteen years old) but they did take a lot of ideas from the old days of baseball and that's the Rangers Ballpark In Arlington. If you weren't for old traditions and ballparks, we might have a completely different ballpark today. I, too, am not a Yankees fan, but I can understand there's a lot of history there and it's hard to believe they're going to tear it down. I've been there once and that was many years ago with my grandparents. I don't remember much, though. Just that I had a fun time.

People do tend to get sad at the end of a tradition or era. It is the way of the world, however.
