If someone you knew went to jail would you visit them ? Would it determine the crime they committed for you to decide ? What if they were in their for murder or mansalughter would you visit and have a hard time believing someone you knew was capable of doing this ?

I love my friends, unconditionally. Maybe if they murdered someone I loved, no, but otherwise, yes. Maybe even then, because if God can forgive everyone, I should, too. Yes?

I have to agree if someone took my childs life it would be really hard to forgive something like this and maybe I am not a strong enough person but I am not sure I could forgive this myself . Like you said it would be hard to know what you would do for sure unless you were in this situation but that would be a pretty hard one to forgive and we are only humans and our feelings tend to get in the way . Thank you for your response .

I have visited friends in jail before. I don't know anyone who committed murder or manslaughter, but i guess it would depend on the situation. i am not going to visit someone if they turned out to be a mass murderer. but if a friend killed someone by misatke or in self defense i would support them and visist.

My brother was in jail for manslaughter when him and a good friend went out drinking and driving one night and they were in an accident . My brother was the driver so he went to jail . I agree with you it would depend a lot on the situation . Thank you for your response .

Yes I would visit a friend in jail. My decision does not depend on what type of crime he has committed. A friend is always a friend even if he did something nasty. It's hard to believe that a friend of yours has did something gross. All of us are humans, all of us can make mistakes.

You know, I'm really not sure. I would like to think that I would. I would like to think that I am a forgiving person and if they were guilty of something that I would be a good Christian and visit them. But I have never been confronted with this situation. I think maybe my hurt and anger with them would keep me away for awhile. I think it would also depend on whether or not they were remorseful about what they had done. But having said that, I can't think of a close friend of mine who would NOT be remorseful if they had committed a crime. Awesome question!

It is true that it is so hard to know what we would do for sure unless we were faced with the situation , we would all like to think we would or would not do something but we can't say for sure until faced with a sitaution . Well said :) Thank you for your response .

Of course I would visit them. If they're my friend then I wouldn't really care what crime they had committed, I would still go to see them. Obviously if it was something really serious I wouldn't condone it, but I would still try to support them during their stay in prison, as it can be the most stressful thing in a person's life.

I don't remember it exactly "A Friend in Deed is a Friend in Need" o viceversa. If friend have gone to the jail by doing a appreciable job which have not tolerable by justice then there is a case of visiting a friend but when he gone by doijg any such crime then there is no way of visiting him . if such case arise of veeting him then it will be an a abusing one only..

It woud depend on what they did to get there. If they kill someone that I loved then no but if they were there for a crime liek stealing or somthign then I would go visit them. If they killed someone I loved then I would not be able to feel the same about them and they would nto be a friend but if it was for some reason that nobody got hurt but was a crime then yes cause they are my friend and I would still be there friend. I would jusst visit them in jail then at home not much diffeent.

[i]HI sam, I have tried once with my cousins...It was a neighbor who committed murder, he is my cousin's friend so, I accompany them..It was scary at first because by the time you will get inside, all the people inside will look at you and I do know, I was just scared but I know they are human being and not all of them are bad...but, I was really scared! I have never been to a jail before. But I would go to visit someone under one of four circumstances. If they were a close friend or family member, if it was my ministry or God told me to. I would hope that I would never have to visit for any reason though.

Unless they committed a crime against me or one of my family members I would go visit them in jail. I think I would still go visit them even if they were convicted of murder. Although I can't imagine that actually happening.

I have a friend who is in jail now. He's not in for anything really bad, well, bad enough, but anyway, if I didn't visit my son during my friend's visiting hours, I would go visit him. I don't know about murder or manslaughter... I guess it would depend on the circumstances, but I'm generally a true friend and it wouldn't matter what he did, I would be there for him or her. That's a good question!

hey there samtaylorskykierajen Hmm very tricky question. I think if I believed they had murdered someone then I would find it hard to look at them and probably wouldn't visit. I don't think that anybody I know would be capable of doing such a thing so if they were accused of murder I thought they didn't do it then I would visit them to give them my support.

I really don't care what my friend did. What is important to me is my relationship with him. If he's my friend then I would visit him regardless of the crime he committed. The fact that he was a friend to me when I had none is far more important than what he has done to be in jail. I treasure my friends more than anything else.

Bottom line is this. If I believed they were innocent, I'd visit, if I believed they were guilty, I would not. The crime would not matter.

Actually as scary as that sounds I do believe you are right , that is why we hear so much about crimes of passion . One cannot say for sure how they would react in any given sitautions and when emotios run high you never know what you may be capable of . Thank you for your response :)

I don't know that I have any true friends. My family, yes....definitely. I have and I will visit them in jail, no matter what they may have done. I'm not their judge. God says to love one another. He is the judge. Just my thoughts. Many things are not hard to believe anymore, these days...

i would do so if he is my friend. what he did, he had paid for it by spending time in jail. it is important for me to give my support to him and not to outcast him just becasue he has spend time in jail. this will defeat the meaning ofr freindship, didn't it?
