Do You Ever Get Eight Hours of Sleep?

The most sleep I get at night is around four or five hours. But I figure if I get a two-hour nap during the day does that make up for it?

During working days, it's quite difficult for me to get eight hour sleep. As I always come back from work at 8 or 9 in the evening, then I'll have to take bath, have dinner, and also do some housework. I also try to take some time to go online too, or do some work. Then it's usually after 12am already. I have to wake up by 6am in order to get to the office on time. So, I usually sleep less than 6 hours per day.

That's a long working day. You're making me tired. Doesn't help that you have to get up by six in the morning. Those six hours of sleep are most precious.

Very seldom can I say that I have gotten at least 8 hrs. of sleep in a night. I am one like you that usually sleeps only 4-6 hrs. a night unless I am really tired, and then most of the time then it is only on weekends if I can sleep in. I too also like to take naps during the day from time to time, and a Good cat nap I feel never hurt anyone as well.

Yeah, those extra weekend hours are nice. But sleeping in, doesn't seem to take away my tiredness. Still, it's nice to sleep in.

I normally get about 6 hours of sleep except sometimes on weekends the baby is nice to me and lets me sleep in a bit. I will sometimes catch a nap with her during the day too. It helps me catch up a little bit.

I have not in the last 14 years gotten more than 5 hours of sleep at night, however I have a condition called sleep apnea where I wake my self up because I am not getting air. Another thing is that I think as you get older you get less sleep anyway. So a few years from now I will fall asleep and be up and ready to go in about 15 minutes.

if u feeling okay and has no problem with it, then it is okay. but night sleep never could exchange with nap because night give us a perfect situation to sleep. like no voices, more silent.

Ah! I wish LOL I try, I even plan for it, but it rarely happens. Not because I can't sleep or have insomnia, far from that. But just because something always happens. Ether I get distracted doing something, being on the computer or reading, or something unusual comes up, or ... whatever, the fact is that I always end up sleeping around 5 hours per night. And it's not even proper 5 hours. Hubby wakes up really early for work, and of course I wake up too. Then I have sleep apnea. And then there's the cats the dogs and everything else that makes my sleep not that restful.

Hello gtargirl. I don't usually sleep eight hours straight a day because I usually go to sleep at around 11 in the evening and get up at around 6:30 in the morning. But it usually takes at least half an hour for me to fall asleep and sometimes I wake up early at five thirty. I have developed a habit of taking a nap after lunch, otherwise I feel sleepy if I have to go work in the afternoon.

Hi there gtargirl! How I wish I could always get eight hours of sleep everyday! Well, I am not really that lucky to have that much time of sleep. But, I do get an hour or two of nap after lunch to make up for it. However, that is only possible on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays as that would be the days when I have much time to spare after lunch.

Hi Gtargirl, I quite often get a good eight hours sleep, I did last night but I feel more tired this morning than if I had only gt 6 to seven hours for some reason. I can't sleep in the day except after a large roast dinner on a Sunday afternoon but this weekend I will be watching F1 so won't get to have my snooze. I have been known to fall asleep early evening though whilst trying to settle my son to sleep. Ellie :D

Sometimes i manage to get 8 hours of sleep but that is usually in the school holidays when i don't have to get up to get the children out to school. I usually get about 6 hours a night. I find that i can't sleep during the day as i know i will not sleep at night if i do. The only time i sleep during the day is when i am ill.

me too. I get about 3 to 4 hrs. everyday. I don't have daytime naps coz I work from 8-5. In my opinion your 2 hour nap is not enough to compensate for your lack of sleep during the evenings. I think we need 8 uninterrupted hours of sleep everyday.

Rarely. I usually get around 5-7 hours at most. I do try to sleep earlier and get up later, even on weekends, but there's just so much to do that I force myself to get up instead of sleeping longer. I'm not sure if the nap will make up for the lost sleep. I've tried it before and I'd still feel tired after waking up from the nap.

I think when you're young it doesn't matter, you can get away with a lot, but you will pay later. I try to get 8 hours of sleep. I want to, but no, I rarely do. However I do want to, so I'll keep working on it, until I reach that goal. Actually I would be happy with seven, from eleven PM to 6 AM. Some say that the hour you sleep before midnight counts as two. Go to sleep the same day you woke up say some sages. Sounds like good advice to me! Happy dreams!:)

I wish I got 8 hours, I do not have a problem getting to sleep, it is staying asleep. I find that if I play soothing music, the room is dark and on the cool side I get about 6 hours.
