I find it very hard using my thinkpad and so bought myself an external usb keyboard. Laptop keys are very soft and get damaged very easily and when i work here at mylot i need it very much so I use my external keyboard much often and seldom use my notebook keypads. i even got a external mouse too So i stay far away from ny notebook and work. This way don't have to stress my eyes too lol

Laptop keyboards are a pain to adapt to for me because they're all designed differently. My laptop is my primary computer, and I always find it uncomfortable to type on a desktop or another laptop because the keyboard is set up different and the keys aren't all in the same place. I don't use external keyboards, though, because I believe it's an unnecessary expense. I can eventually get used to the keyboard, if I use it enough. One of my biggest annoyances is that infernal mousepad directly underneath my keyboard. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally erased large chunks of work all because I moved my arm the wrong way. I finally got a computer that allows me to turn it off. I'll sometimes forget to turn it off before I type, and end up paying for it in the end.

thanks for your response, you have written here in details why i exactly hate using my keyboards .While using my laptop keyboards i too have gone through this problem many times so finally i decide that enough is enough and bought this external keyboard and mouse and as for the expense I don't think it's cost much. Just a simple ordinary keyboard and mouse. I have i Think benefited much more because of the keyboards and mouse and helps me making more money here in mylot too.

Hello.. I use a Thinkpad too. A Dell and an Acer before that. For me it makes sense to use the laptop keyboard. It takes a couple of days to get used to when I change laptops. At work I use a desktop with the usual bulky keyboard. All in all I think it is better that I am flexible between different keyboards. The best way to avoid RSI. At the end of the day we can train our fingers to fly on any keyboard! Cheers

I actually prefer typing on my laptop. I find it much quicker than on a loose keyboard. This could be because I'm a touch typist and I don't need to look at the keys, my eyes are always on the screen, which is at a comfortable distance for me. When I bought my laptop, the sales person suggested I may want to buy a USB mouse for it, but I like using the touch pad on my laptop more than a mouse. I find it easier to control and my right hand does not ache afterwards, as it did when I used a mouse. I also like my laptop for taking up so much less space than a desktop. Everything is in one piece of equipment, rather than having separate keyboard, mouse, screen and tower.

May be i too will one day get accustomed to it but I need to see my keys before I type and i find it very difficult when I have the screen right in front of me. i selom use my keypads and As I had been using the external keyboards and i have the habbit of hitting it quite hard so they are always prone to problems by the way i use. So i better like using my external ones both the mouse and keyboards

I have one but I don't use it in laptop. May laptop was damage so I am now using it at my Desktop. I found it more convenient so if ever I'll be choosing a wired or a wireless keyboard, I'll definitely choose the unwired. but of course it needs battery.

I only use an external keyboard when I have my laptop attached to a docking station when I am using it like a desktop computer

Hmm...I don't use my laptop's keyboard anymore. That's because I'm really used to my desktop and only use laptop when necessary. But one major factor is that the laptop's keyboard is having a problem right now, it lost like 8 keys so I'm using an external keyboard. I also use a wireless mouse for ease. I kind of makes the laptop look like a desktop. Heehee. Have a nice day.
