Did you hear???

Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward - They were the perfect couple. They seemed to stay deeply on love. It kills me to think I'll never see him again!!!

I was totally saddened to hear that my beloved Paul Newman has succumbed to cancer. This breaks my heart as he was the only man I ever wanted that completely got away. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/orl-paul-newman-092708,0,1213800.story I have had MORE fantasies about this man that I care to share & probably more than you want to hear about. His wife, Joanne Woodward, grew up in my hometown which is as close as I ever got to him. I have enjoyed Cool Hand Luke soooo many times. Since a lot of you here are about the same age as me, please share your memories of this wonderful man!!!

I had no idea that you and Paul Newman had anything going on! Sorry that he got away! I did not realize that he was so sick. It is really too bad.

I know. I am very saddened. Not only was he a great talent, great hunk but he was a great man, too. Very few of him are left in showbiz. He once said, about his wife, "I have steak at home, why go out for hamburger?" I loved him in all the movies but for some reason three that I loved him in the most were "The Long Hot Summer", "The Glass Menagerie" (I played in that in high school), and "The Sting". But he was great in all of them. His gorgeous blue eyes could just melt me!! I will meet him someday. I will be 54 in two weeks, so I figure in about 30 or so years, I will be there, but his wife may beat us!! UGH. You were great, Paul. You are greatly missed. RIP

Yes, he was a wonderful man who appeared to love his wife deeply. He believed in helping others & did so with his time, effort & money. He was one of those who put his money where his mouth is!!! He was a man to be admired & adored. Even at 83 he was a fine looking man with the kindest eyes.

Paul Newman - The Man, The Myth, The Legend
I loved him in no ones fool or was nobodys fool? He was one sexy man and will be missed greatly. He was a man you didn't hear negative things about. He gave so much to different charities. That man had the most awesome eyes and I've never seen any eyes like his on any other actor ...... drools Fair well Paul but you will never be forgotten.

Paul Newman & Joanne Woodward!!! - Paul & Joanne still enjoying the last days of his life. He left here as he lived here...FULL of SPIRIT!!!
He was a SEXY man with a kind & giving heart. Newman's Own profits all went to the underprivileged. Newman's Own has grown into a powerful and lasting expression of Paul Newman's generosity. The Company has generated over $250 million in proceeds that have been donated by Paul Newman and the Newman's Own Foundation to thousands of charities worldwide. Particularly close to his heart were the Hole in the Wall Camps, now the leading global family of camps for children with life-threatening illnesses, which Paul started over 20 years ago. His eyes were beautiful too!!!What really shocked me was this gorgeous man who I had loved ALL my life, was the same age as my Mom & only 2 years younger than my Dad.

Paul Newman was one of my idols and he had a good life and a great career. When I heard that he passed away, I thought it was about time that he started another adventure. Who knows where he is now, wowing everyone else like he always did in this life, I would surmise.

I do believe they said he was thinking of starting a new adventure when he realized he was too weak & his time here was growing shorter. I believe he went straight through the Pearly Gates as he had always worked for the betterment of man. Newman's Own was a stroke of genius as a way to support his favorite charities & his way of taking care of those who needed it most!!!

Cool Hand Luke!!! - One of his MOST sexiest roles!!! I could watch & have watched this movie over & over & over again. I think maybe tonight I will pull out my DVD & watch it again as a memorial to one of the BEST actors ever born!!!
It will be hard having a nice day now. Even though we never met, I feel I know him better than my own family. I had been trying to prepre myself for this day as it was obvious it was coming . It's just one of those things you cannot prepare for!!!

I heard about Paul Newman this morning. I wasn't really surprised because he has been fighting cancer a while. He lived a long, beautiful life. I believe 83 long years? I'm sure he left peacefully. He is in a better place.

LadyMarissa, I caught the news online from Daily Mail UK, and I am saddened for he is one of my favorite actors and role model. It is just unfortunate that he had cancer and lost the fight. But I really admire his courage and happy that he had lived to a ripe age of 83. He is really a role model to the end, his marriage, his children, his charities, his outlook on life and his courageous fight with cancer. He has all my adulation and applause for being a great man of this lifetime and that he will be sorely missed.

Yes, a great man, great actor, husband, father, etc. etc. He really was one of the great ones and I can only wish his family peace and strength to go on. They have a lot of great memories to get them through. Rest in Peace, Paul.

Hi LadyMarissa ... it was sad news indeed. From what I've been hearing on the radio, Paul Newman was an incredibly generous man who has donated vast amounts of money to charities and helped a lot of people. It was nice he had such a long and happy marriage - rare in his business. I loved him in The Sting - a highly entertaining and clever movie with a brilliant soundtrack, too! Safe journey, Paul ...

I have to admit I was a fan. I wasn't fond of his politics but any star that doesn't spend time in the tabloids gets my vote. He found a woman he loved and married her. They stayed married along time. He lived away from the stardom bustle in a normal town and neighborhood. He hung out with the neighbors and made friends in town. He helped others and gave to charities and brought peoples attention to problems he saw. In other words he was boring. He followed his passions and lived the life he wanted. Acting, Driving race cars, making food, enjoying friends, helping the causes he cared about, doing what he wanted, when he wanted to. One of the most fascinating poring guys I can think of.

YES, he was a WONDERFUL man who lived life to its fullest!!! Joanne Woodward grew up near my hometown. He & Joanne were married for 50 years. He said When you've got steak at home, WHY go out for hamburger!!! He made over $250 million dollars for his favorite charities. Since I believe others politics is NONE of my business, I never paid attention to his!!!
