If you rent someone else has to pay for the upkeep but if you own your house you will have to pay for years before it is really yours and you will have to maintain the upkeep so which do you prefer

well In both the cases the maintainence is really the same. In a rented house we pay the owner and in an owned house we need to maintain it ourselves so not much of a difference. But everyone dreams of owing a house and the house is an asset. So i think it's a better optoin owing a house then living in a rented one

as much as its a pain in the butt when things break its worth it to own your own place to where you are investing your money into something instead of wasting it.. but i would only do it if i knew i would be living in it for over a year or two.. any less would be too much a bother

well owning a house is a better option cause no one is gonna put restriction on you simply taking loan from any low interest finance companies would do the rest.

I still prefer to pay for our own house. When you rent, paying is endless. It will take you years to pay but still at the end, it is yours. But the sad thing for me is it's very expensive to buy a house these days especially in the Philippines. You need to have a very good credit standing to be able to loan a nice amount to deposit on real estate agencies. Or if you have a small money to pay and would really want to have your own house, you can get a house but they are too remotely located that you have to travel hours before you reach your workplace and that is very impractical also because of the very high commuting fare. But I do not lose hope. Someday maybe God will give us a house of our own.

I do want to have my own house. I dont like renting forever. Those money that I paid every month if i did put it in the bank in 10 years i can build a big house that i like! Its good to have your own because you had have it forever. Renting will be just for a while and theres a tendency you will be kick out by the owner. haha

Me and my husband own our home and I can say their are times I wish we did have a landlord to say hey this and that needs fixed. Telling hubby seems to go in one ear rotate a bit before wafting out the other ear mostly forgotten. Mostly projects will get finished if I start on them and he takes over but I can't do a roof or build a porch alone.

My husband and I have been renting since we got married and I have to say that I can't wait to own our own house. I want to do what ever I want to MY house, My yard, and paint the rooms any color that I want and not worry about getting in trouble. I have a very handy husband so the repairs and up keep don't bother or worry me because I know that he can take car of whatever needs to be taken care of. I want my kids to have freedom to decorate or make whatever they want in OUR yard.

I much prefer to own my own house...which I do. I bought my first house in 1968 and it was paid for in 1988. Now if I had been renting a house, I wouldn't own it and I would have paid 40 years rent on it by now. That amounts to an awful lot of money. Besides, when you own your own house, you can do what you want with it. You can make alterations to it and decorate it in whatever fashion pleases you, whereas if you are renting, then you would have to wait for the landlord to decorate and it might not be to your tast.

After the drama I've had after moving out of my rented house, I think I'd rather own my own. It's degrading to have some woman 5 years younger than you tell you she's not happy with the state of the walls and I must go back and scrub them.. even though the house was twice as filthy when we moved in....definitely own!

once you own your own it would be impossible for me to go back renting. One day soon it'll be paid off and we can have our little dog and we can paint or fix the house the way we want to. I'll never rent again so the landlord can have a paid house.

When I haven't much money, I prefer to rent. That way I know exactly how much everything is and can budget. When I have a lot of money, I prefer to own. There is way more freedom when you own. Also I tend to own more land than I could ever rent.

i would prefer to have my own house... even if it will take years for the house to be mine... coz if i rent, i would still have to pay and in the end, i will have nothing... at least if i buy or pay for a house to be mine, i will have something to look forward to...
