IS it healthy to fast

Tomorrow starts one of the biggest festivals in India and I am going to fast for 9 days from tomorrow. Will be surviving only on fruits. Fasting I heard is good for health is it really so?

good..happy navratri to you.but dont fast to such an extent that you feel tired due to it.Also dont loose stamina if you are playing garba

Thanks At last an Indian here and no garga and other stuff I will be at home busy making posts her at mylot and since all my friends have gone back home I will not be visiting the pandals too. happy navratri to you too were are you from

Hello,Luck! It is good for health if you fast once a week.But on fasting days drink enough water to maintain the water level in your body.Eat only some fruits and milk on the fasting days.thanx.

Hello...yes fasting is good as it is a way of detox and cleanse and it is also a time for our body to rest. Hey its good that you going on a fruit fast. I have never tried fasting and eating fruits only and LOL....for 9 days!!!! I have tried going only on water for 3 days and gosh...it was tough but it was real good.

Fasting is good for health if followed properly. I used to fast some days. It helps the body to renew itself, I believe. how the body renew is a complicated process. Most important is our digestive organs get rest for sometime and it is really important. Emptying the stomach fully for long time is not good idea, but for 12 hours might be OK for me. It depends on person to person. Some people can not fast at all, while for some people, they can fast for two or three days continuous.
