Would you pick up a dollar bill off the floor....

Of a public bathroom?? I just came back from the restroom. When I walked in I saw a dollar bill laying on the floor by the sink. I considered picking it up and putting it in my pocket, but then I though about all the germs on the floor of public bathrooms. Sure, a free dollar would have been nice... but I couldnt bring myself to touch it. I walked out of the bathrrom, leaving the money on the floor for someone who is less concerned with germs than I am... lol. So what about you? Would have picked up the dollar, or would you have left it alone?

If that is the case I would not dare to pick it. I am m ore concern for my health compare to that dollar i floor of the public restroom. 90% of germs are in your hands that you get all day long so the way you did is just a right thing to do.

I would have picked it up. Money is absolutely filthy anyways. Do you really think that there are that many more germs on the floor. Think how many hands money is passed through on a daily basis. Half those people don't wash their hands and god only knows what they touch. They sneeze, cough, pick sores and everything else into their hands. In fact the money was probably dirtier than the actual floor of the bathroom if the truth be known.

i would have picked up tha dollar with out a doubt. i am not scared of germs at all. you could have gotten a paper towel to pick it up with and stuffed it right in your pocket and washed it off when you got home. i know i am not passing up any free money.

money is meant to be riddled with germs anyway, so I would.

Ummmm, there are all kinds of hands with all kinds of germs handling money all the time, anyway. If you really thought about all the hands money passes through, however many times a day, you wouldn't want to touch it anyway. So, yeah, I guess I probably would have picked it up and stuck it in my pocket. *L*

If I saw a dollar bill on the floor of any place other than a public bathroom, I'd pick it up. But since it's just one dollar and on the floor of a public bathroom, I'll let the chance of being a dollar richer pass hahaha. What's the use of being sick and spending more than the money youpicked up?

Hell yes I would have taken it. DO you think all other money is clean? I shudder to think where money has been. How many stories do you hear of kids swallowing $2 coins and then mum 'finding' it at the other end? Who knows what people get up to with money. Think about it, it's been handed over from person to person sometimes for 20 years or more, imagine where it's been! Peole who've gone to the toilet at the shopping centre adn not washed their hands then using it to buy something...not to mention people dropping money down the toilet then fetching it..money is too precious to throw away so i think if someone dirties it, they're not going to throw it away for hygiene reasons. I always wash my hands after I've been ahndling money..it's just gross ! So yeah, picking it off the bathroom floor wouldn't have bothered me, just means it would have had one billion and two germs on it instead of one billion.

hun.. every single bill and coin you will ever come into contat with, unless you go to the mint and get em fresh offa the press with as little human contact as possible.. has been slimed, snotted, coughed, soiled, and otherwise infested with everything under the sun before you lay yer hands onto it. that bill on the bathroom floor was no more dirty than the one in yer pocket.

The difference being though, the cash in my wallet has had time to de-germify. The dollar in the bathrrom floor had FRESH germs all over it. Young germs. Germs who have just started their dirty little lives... and are young and full of new hopes and aspirations. But seriously yeah the more people who respond to this discussion the more I realize I need to NEVER touch paper money ever again. From now on if I buy so much as a pack of tic tacs its going on the charge card LOL!!

Tee..I handle dirty money everyday..I know because its been touched by someone else and who knows what they did with it before they gave it to me..lol..yuck..so right next to me at the store is a container of sanitory wipes that i constantly use after handling money..I've never done coke and know it might be on the bills too..I even wash my money..talking about laundring..lol..so since I can't avoid it from customers i thnk I'd depending how poor i was that day either pick it up and wash it in the sink with gobs of soap or leave it for someone who might have needed it more than me..by the way i carry rubber gloves to pick up things..just being my healthy germ prevention as much as i can self..lol..

This type of issue is depends on the value of the money to the situation u are in. A mentality ppl will judge it on a dollar in a toilet bowl and 100 dollars in toilet bowl. A dollar, i wun think about risking it. But 100 dollars make someone think twice. Is all about how to judge the money. For me I would just pick it if not that dirty.

How do you know that I was the one who picked up the Dollar and gave it to the clerk to pay for my groceries and you were in line behind me and received it in your change? You still have the dollar but I am the richer for it.

Your absolutly right - but its the psychological factor that would have bothered me. I would walk around all day knowing I had bathroom floor paper in my pocket. Pictureing the germs walking off the paper to exlpore my pockets.... I probably would have wanted to burn my pants by the end of the day LOL. But I'm weird like that :p

Hi Tee, I have a question for you, would you have picked it up if it had been a one hundred dollar bill? I'm usually particular about things like that but I would probably have picked it up as you never really know where money has been. Maybe when you go to the supermarket again you'll get that same dollar bill. Money is really one of the dirtiest things we can handle. Blessings.

hell yeah I would. Pick it up and wash it off with soap and water...then dry it off under the air dryer or wrap it in a paper towel and put it in your wallet. Then you can wash your hands...so you are clean AND you still get the money LOL

i think if you are that worried about germs ,then you should not handle money at all because money is the most germ filled item that we touch every day ,so whether its on the bathroom floor or not ,its still filled with germs so i think you were kind of stupid for not picking it up and keeping it for yourself .....

Yes I need to do some serious thinking lol. Someone above pointed out that the dollar bills in my wallet right now might have been crammed in some strippers thong last week. Im pretty sure I'm never going to touch any money ever again LOL.

I think it would depend on a few things on whether or not I would pick up a dollar bill I saw on the ground in a public restroom. Like, how clean the bathroom was, was it resting in anything, where exactly was the dollar bill, etc. I noticed in one of your replys that the dollar was in a few sprinkles of something. I would be hesitant right there lol. If it was near the sink, then I might would be more comfortable. But if it was near a stall, then forget about it. I'm already a bit germaphobic as it is, so it would be kind of hard for me to take it. Although I probably would and then just wash the bill off like someone else said they would do. I guess for me I'd have to see one before I'd really know what I would do or not. But in this situation, then I'd go for it.
