Are you a flower or a weed?

My daughter was watching Alice in Wonderland today.
And, when Alice goes into the garden in Wonderland
the other flowers confront her and ask her what kind
of flower she is?
She doesn't really know, so they assume she's a weed.
Of course, she denies that she is a weed.
That made me wonder.
Would you consider yourself a flower or weed?
And, by weed, I mean a wild flower?
I have always loved wild flowers.
I'd love to think that I'm a cultured flower.
But, most likely I'd be more like a wild flower
or weed.
They're real survivors and nothing keeps them
down for long. Story of my life!
What about you? Flower? Or, weed?

Do you remember that line in Wizard
of OZ, when the cowardly lion says
that he doesn't want to be a dandelion?
I don't think he was talking about wild flowers.

I think it was something he said in one of the
musical numbers.
I've always wondered how those guys could do all that
dancing in those costumes.
Those things had to weigh a ton!
And, I heard that the witch got a chemical burn
from the original green paint they used.
Poor girl!

I am most definitely a weed or a wildflower. I come up in all the wrong places, but I do keep coming up. I am often in the wrong place, or at the wrong time, but I bloom where I am planted.

In that context, I would definitely have to say I'm a weed. Wild flowers are absolutely awsome, and so cool the way they grow. I think I'd rather have a garden full of wild flowers doing what God wants them to do, than a bunch of cultivated flowers that have to live a certain way.

Oh definitely! Cultured flowers are so fragile
and have to be "cultivated".
Wild flowers are hearty creatures that could
survive in almost any environment.
And they thrive on hardship!
Can't say that about a rose.

How wonderful it is to be a weed! People, disease, etc., have all tried to do me in, but I come back stronger than ever. Just as the weeds in my garden are as beautiful as the cultured flowers, I believe we weeds are as beautiful as the cultured flowers. I have quite a bit of culture, with a great deal of excellent education and a tremendous appreciation for the arts, etc., but I insist upon my right to remain a wild, wild weed!

When you consider that a weed is just a plant that is growing in the wrong spot, then I guess there's allot of people who would define me as a weed!
Being a weed wouldn't be too bad a thing I don't think. Weeds can be very pretty, they're strong and they're resourceful. If you took a patch of bare earth and just left it, those weeds would be there colonising it before the 'cultivated' flowers got a look in.

Hello dear beauty queen. I wold like to be weed rather than a flower because I think that weed has a very strong life. Whenever it is burnt or dug up or removed, it will grow up soon once time is mature for it to grow again. But flowers bloom for only one season and fade easily. I choose to be weed. lol. Thank you for your discussion, dear beauty queen.
