Do you use private messaging appropriately?

I know we all get the occasional affiliate link sent to us by a 'friend' from around here. I don't like it, but I tolerate it. I figure we all try to make a buck now and then. I won't hold that against anyone.
But lately I receive inappropriate questions through PM. These questions are inappropriate because they aren't even about me. I will not answer questions about other friends when they should be answering the questions themselves.
And I don't even like to think about how anyone has my personal email when I haven't given it to them. I beg you, please do not write me if I haven't given you my contact information. I have enough viagra ads and other stuff to wade through to have time to even think about why you are writing ME.
Are you a considerate PM user?

Actually, I haven't used my PM in quite awhile, and even then it was rare. Only a few times have I shared affiliate links, but I got out of the GPT business a few months ago. Since then it's mostly been a bit of chatter between friends.

I can't remember the last time I used private messaging on MyLot. I remember once wanting to carry on a conversation with a member about something we had in common that we wanted to keep out of discussions (some more private details entered into the conversation) but I can't remember when that happened. I know that was the only time I used private messaging, so I guess the answer is YEs, I use private messaging appropriately, be it on MyLot, or any other site.

I don't use it too often unless I am trying to carry on a conversation with someone. It sounds like you are being spammed.

I am a considerate pm user. I won't use the system to promote links unless I am asked about a site and someone wants to see what I've written or wants to know more about a site. I don't use myLot as a site to promote other ways for me to earn online. If someone pm's me, I respond.
Someone has your personal email and you haven't given it to them? So it went around the horn from one myLot user to another? I don't think that's something we need to share here without the member's permission. Once I feel comfy enough, I will give my personal email address to a member. We have to share some common interest before I will just give out my email address.

I know exactly how you feel and I actually feel the same way. I don't talk about other people, if you want to something about somebody then ask them yourself, I don't email you to ask you to join this or that, unless I know you want that kind of information,

If someone abuses the PM to me, and I mean not just once, I will remove them from my friends list and report them as abusing the system.

i just reading old notifications anmd try to respond them, so dont mind as if its late response.
PM you mean at Mylot or at your hotmail or personal mail id. I use mylot messages when some one add me to thanks, or to ask questions to friends which are not used as discussion on Mylot. While sat email is only exchange mail with friends, rather its more of forward messages which go to whole lot in my friends list, but its not like bombarment of mails
