Would you warn a friend about a money making scam?

If you were been part of a ptc or other read email or affiliate program that turned out to be a scam, would you warn a friend not to join? About three years ago, I joined an affiliate program that looked very professional. According to their website, affiliates were making thousands monthly. It looked legitimate. And, I advertised my brains out for it and made some money in my account and got about 20 people in my sub-affiliate down line. But, then out of the blue, the company went out of business and didn't pay any of their affiliates. One day they were in business and the next, I couldn't log in. So weird! I wish that someone had warned me they were a scam. Now, when I get the chance, I pass along the word about them so that others don't associate with the person who scammed me.

What I meant to indicate, was will you take this moment to warn a friend about a scam? Perhaps you've run across scams recently. And, if so, please take a moment to post about them. Thanks!

I hate that just like Boomertowne. I am not sure if you are talking about this site or not. I am glad I only lost a $25 visa gift card. There were a lot of others that lost out on a lot more then that.

I did not know that about Boomertowne. I've heard of them. The site that went out of business was a place called Net Marketing. Really credible looking products. But, then again, I guess anyone can look credible online. It's just digital paper!

Yeah I heard of Net Marketing also and thought about joining I am glad now that I didn't. I heard of Boomertowne from another website that I have been in for a good long time called Gather. A lot of people in there talked how great and how easy it was to earn gift cards.

Yes, I'd definetely tell people if I knew it was a scam. Especially if i hadn't realised in time and they'd joined under me. I would take it off my website straight away too. After all, people will find out eventually anyway and it's always better to be honest.

yeah I do, but before signing up to something I always research it first just to make sure, and if I come across a scam I tell others too about it just to make sure that we all don't end up being scammed.

If something turns out to be a scam, I will not only warm my friends about it, I will warn the entire world about it, on a site like Gather or MyLot, and in as many personal e-mails to members and non-members alike, as possible. When there is a scam, everyone should know about it.

Most of my friends don't do internet programs to make money so I wouldn't have anyone to warn. I would warn my online friends if I knew that a site was a scam and if I knew that I site was a scam I would probably start a discussion here about it and write an article for AssociatedContent.com about it because I hate to see people get taken advantage of.

I would warn a friend if something was a scam. i usually avoid referring my friends to anything I try until i'm sure it is legit. i figure i'm a stay at home mom, i have time to waste to try something out and see if it is legit. i don't want my friends or family using all their free time on something that isn't legit.

Hello beauty queen. I agree with you and think that you are considerate about this issue. I will do the same as you do to warn my friends about a money-making scam so that they would not have any loss of time, energy, money and such. Right now I am still a member of pickjack, but it has not bought our points for more than three month ever since July this year. I am wondering what has happened to pickjack. Could it be a scam now? It does not keep its promise to buy its users' points and I can see why it does not grow, but always more than three thousand users there. I have to let my friends know about it and we talk to each other about it and we are not so active there any more. In fact, we are inactive before the site buys our points. It is a waste of time there. I have also decided to move the link that I keep it here at mylot so that no one else will be cheated by it any more. Happy posting, beauty queen.

Well of course I would. Most of my friends usually join under me as my refs. it's my responsibility to tell them that they are wasting time on my account. I tell them about it as soon as I get the info. This helps in the long run because the next time you pass them your ref link, they will have the trust that you would notify them about the scam ones and make sure that they are not wasting their time. This helps in the long run when I have to pass more links to them.. bourne

Sure, I would warn my friends not to join scams and if ever I join something which I dont know is a scam, once I find out the truth, I will advise my friends not to join the same thing. If ever I invited them to be my sub affiliates and then i find out the truth, I will advise them to stop hoping and tell them that maybe we could find something else which hopefully is not a scam. Yes, we learn from our mistakes and that will make us more cautious to next time.

Yes, If I have their contacts. If not, they'll see it on my blog. I don't want to support any scammers and if a program have scammed me, they'll regret. I'll spread the word about their wrong doings so that other users will not fall to their hands
