Attacked by a virus when responding to a discussion..........

OK, I was not sure where to stick this one so I popped it into internet. I just want to ask you all if any of you have experienced a virus attack through responding to someone elses discussion? Only the thing is, I have just gone onto a discussion to respond to it and as soon as I started to type in the box my computer started saying it was downloading something, the next minute a little warning box appeared, telling me that a bloodhoundexploit.196 had tried to attack my computer but had been blocked successfully. I immediately tried to get off the response and it happened again. Luckily I managed to get off it safely, also luckily my protections are up to date, are yours? I got off and went into my security and found out that it came under trojan, virus, worm. Now I am a bit wary now of this, because I have not been on any other sites today and it only happened when I went to respond to a discussion. My question to you is has this ever happened to you on here? Is it possible to pick up a virus from discussions on here?

I wish we will get a great explanation here from friends who have more knowledge about this post![/i]

Yes people must make sure that all their virus protections are all up to date and that they are covered in every way. I will not say too much about who I was trying to respond too as it is not really fair, as it is totally possible that it was not that. But it definately happened as soon as I tried to respond to a discussion, so I am going to be watching what I am doing.

Oh my. I have never seen anything like this before at Mylot. It would not surprise me none though. Some people have claimed to get a virus through Mylot. Thank God for Norton and Symantec antivirus.

I've never gotten a virus from responding to a discussion on here, though I believe I got one when looking at someone's profile. Like you, I hadn't been on any other sites and when I had gone to this user's profile a bunch of new windows started to pop up and would not stop until I shut my computer off. I don't recall what virus it was, but I was able to catch it and eliminate it from my computer.

Hello gemini_rose. I am so sorry that you have got such an unpleasant experience from responding to a discussion, but I am lucky not to have had this happen while doing mylotting. Could it be some other reason like it happens to be the time when the virus attacks a computer? But anyway it is good that your computer is well protected. Good luck to you, friend.

I never had such an experience while responding to others discussion. You mentioned that while responding to someone's discussion You were downloading something. That may be the cause of attack of Virus. Be careful while downloads.

Yes, it has happened to me too. And I started a discussion about it and I couldn't believe how many people stuck up for mylot. Everyone that responded said it was impossible to get a virus from mylot because mylot would never let the discussion through if it had virusses. I know I got it from mylot because I was not working any other sites that day. I have never gotten another one since, but I am still wiery about it. I also have protection against viruses but sometimes I am afraid that the virus will get through anyways. I also notified mylot about it but never heard back from them about it. I think that mylot has gotten so big they can't handle all of the traffic and need to hire a few more people. I have no luck ever, with notifing mylot about anything, they never answer me back, so I just don't bother anymore.
