This would have scared me to death. It really makes me think twice about taking my family to the local fairs and carnivals around here. Thank goodness for these folks. 10or 12 Fairgoers catch child dropped from ride.Toddler became trapped when the Crazy Bus ride at a carnival in Port Orange started up suddenly as mother and children were getting off the ride. http://www.local6.com/slideshow/news/17627864/detail.html They caught the child. You can see from the picture how high up they were when the ride started up again. Would this make careful about the rides you choose at these carnivals? Do you think there should be strict safety precautions?

I am all for strict safety precautions with amusement park rides. Roller coasters tend towards faster, bigger, stronger, longer.. etc... This is a function of economic pressures. People want a thrilling ride and as amusement parks run off ticket sales, they have to provide these thrills as safely as possible. I believe there should be multiple-redundant safety measures. I believe these should be enforced by safety officers who do not work for the park. It seems, to me, some what important.

Wow, how scary! That little girl is lucky that someone caught her. I think the owners of the carnival may be in for a lawsuit. I don't think that rides get checked for safety often enough.

I thinl so too. That is so awful. We had a teenage girl have her feet severed on a ride last year, I believe. It was due to a faulty broken cable on the ride. these rides are just not inspected like they should be.
