I recently came across this article ( http://freakonomics.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/10/30/on-the-legalization-or-not-of-marijuana/ ) and I thought it posed an interesting question that we should consider when thinking about marijuana prohibition. The question is if we had reached the 21st century without ever discovering marijuana or alcohol and we simultaneously discovered both substances what would the laws on these substances be like today?

Who knows? I'm sure they would have it lab tested and give us the results or outcome of it. They would more than likely say the same thing about both of them now.
