This is so sad. I cannot believe how young this boy was.Cop describes finding parents dead, 2-year-old with phone in hand. Fred DeWitt Cooper on trial for murder in deaths of Steven and Michelle Andrews. If convicted, Cooper could face the death penalty. Do you remember how old you were when you learned calling 9-1-1? http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/10/03/911.tot.witness.ap/index.html

Lord I know I was older then two..I didn't have a phone most of my life and when I did we wasn't allowed to use it when we were little. I say I learned it when I was about 8 or 9 really..I know that is old to first learn but that is the age I recall remembering learning about it.

Kids are being taught early in school how to dial 911. Unfortunately, some kids have to experiement. Mine did this when they were five years old. They got up early and went to the living room and dialed. I received a knock on the door minutes later only to find cops and my kids hiding. The cop had a talk with them about dialing 911. He told them they could only do it in an emergency. They did learn. This is a sad story, but the child knew something was wrong and just wanted tohelp his parents.

Oh my gosh. that is very sad. That poor two year old child may be traumatised for life because of that. That is so awful. Poor thing. I have no idea how old I was when I even learned about 911.

Wow, I am impressed that a 2 year old knew enough to dial 9-1-1. I do not remember the exact age, but I was in grade school. I grew up in an area where 9-1-1 did not work for the longest time. We had to dial out the whole number for police, fire, and ambulance. Where we live now 9-1-1 is not available either.

That is a sad story. What a poor kid. He doesn't have any parents anymore :'(. I feel sorry for him and he called 9-1-1. That is amazing. I remember when I learned about 9-1-1 I kept dialing not knowing that I couldn't do that :S
