Hi Myloters, I am filipina and rice is part of my daily mail. I cant pass by a day without having rice in our dining table. Even when my partner cook steak I still have even just little bit of rice. But my partner when he eat rice he says that he get hungry very fast. I don't know why? For people who eat more meat what do you think of rice? and for people who eat rice can you live without rice? Thanks for your time Myloters Happy Myloting

hey eve301345 I am from India and you are well aware that staple food of our country is rice. First I am Indian and I belongs to Kolkata(W.Bengal) . Most of the eastern parts of India are preferred rice as staple foods. We take rice in 2 times i,e. one at lunch and other at dinner time. I can not take any other foods as lunch and dinner . In our dinning table if we do not find rice we think that we are taking tiffin. I like rice very much that too fried rice, zira rice. pkc3000

Even for us, south Indians major food is Rice, we people cant live without rice, We cannot just pass the day without rice, from childhood we are given only rice and i cannot compensate my meal without rice, hey eve it happens, north Indians major food is wheat they make rotis out of it, if i eat roti i eat it less because i dont eat it like i do with rice, so i feel like consuming something very soon.. this is same case with your husband, when he consumes rice he may consume it less and soon he feels hungry:)

Hi Eve! Yeah, rice has always been the staple food here in our country. I really really feel hungry if I miss eating rice in a day. I'm just used to eating with rice and I feel that it's really incomplete if I don't have rice. It does have carbohydrates which give out energy and probably that is the reason why I am more satisfied with a meal than not eating rice. Take care and happy eating!

In my my country rice is the main meal. My kids love to eat rice and they don't like to eat anything else other than rice for all 3 main meals, that is breakfast, lunch and dinner. So we can never ever wait without eating rice.

I am from India.I am a south Indian and my wife is from Bengal. People from both these areas are maily rice eaters and their staple food is Rice. we regularly eat rice as our staple food.We prepare boiled Rice as a basic food with which we mix either curry prepared out of vegetables or meat or fish . Some times we ea is t with boiled and fried pulses. We prepare Biryani where we cook rice with either Meat or Chicken along with lot of spices and it is very tasty and India's one of the popular dish through out the World ! Pulav is a sligth variation of Biryani where Vegetables are used instead of Meat. Rice is used in preparing many dishes like Dosa, Idli etc. I personally like to have rice as it is easy to digest and cook too! A good quality rice is very tasty and aromatic and once tasted can never be forgotten ! Thanks ! It was a nice topic of discussion and I enjoyed the participation!

Yes, rice is part of our daily meal, except when we have steaks or something fried. My hubby never used to eat rice a lot before. But he got used to it already. He, on the other hand, thinks that he now doesn't get full when there's no rice. I like rice a lot, but I also like fixing a variety of food for the family so they don't get tired of eating the same thing everyday. So you can just imagine how much time I spend thinking and planning our meals everyday just so everyone has a hearty meal!

I am from eastern India and rice is certainly part of my daily meal. But still,I don't like having it at lunch specially when I am at work because it makes me feel sleepy.

Yes i am a Filipino too so rice is part of my daily meal. But I can last a day or few days without rice. I can live on wholewheat bread fruits and veggies. I've done that before and I was able to withstand. I'm not the type who would crave for rice. If there is rice I'd eat but if alone in the house or in the office and rice is not available I can always manage without it. My hubby and my son can't do the same. Without rice they would feel weak.

Almost, I'm Taiwanese and even if I live in the USA now, I still maintain my eating habits from before i moved. WEll, I try to. Its kinda impossible to eat it everyday, but it takes up a big part of me and my family's diet. Without rice, I think I would be sad, cuz theres not so much dishes to enjoy it with, if you get what I mean. (That wasn't a very clear description...) Thanks for your time too, Happy myLotting! :D

Yes, Rice is part of my daily meal. Bec. rice is important in our body. Rice is a great source of energy used by our body. but when we eat a lot we feel sleepy. That is because, it is difficult for our body to divert food into energy. That is why if we eat too much more than what our body needs. Our body wants to shut itself down. Sleeping ! You could also substitute corn or sweet potato instead of rice. you could also get the nutritions found in rice.

Hi eve! I'm also a Filipina and life has always been part of my everyday life, 3 times a day. Haha. Well, I think I can live without rice but I'm going to have a hard time without it. I tried it when I was in college. I tried to have a no-rice diet for a week since I'm going to attend a wedding ceremony, that was the hardest thing. After that week, I ate all the rice I can. LOL.

I am from India for us rice is main food. Without rice our meals won't be. For our climate rice is the most suitable food. It is more digestible.
