Actually, it was a toss up to where I posted this, Doctor Who or Star Trek!
As those of us "true fans" know, David Tennant has been working with Patrick Stewart on Hamlet for the last bit, making so that we aren't having a full season of Doctor Who this year.
But Stewart has enjoyed working with Tennant on Hamlet so much, and is a fan of Doctor Who that he wants to be on the show!
Here's a link and an excerpt from another story.

Doctor Who:
More bugshit insane Doctor Who rumors. First of all, there are whispers that Patrick Stewart is so happy with Hamlet costar David Tennant, he wants to appear on Doctor Who in 2009, so they can take their relationship to the next level. Stewart's character would have no facial prosthetics, but sport a killer costume, and he's a significant enough figure that he could be brough back. And Stewart doesn't want to play a "good guy." One theory: Picard could revive the role of the Meddling Monk, the mischievous member of the Doctor's own time-traveling race, last seen in 1966.
Meanwhile, a guy who knows a guy who talked to a guy says the long-distant fifth season will start with a Dalek two-parter written by new showrunner Steven Moffat, and will also feature the Zygons, the Ice Warriors and a non-contemporary Celtic companion. [Planet Gallifrey]
So, do you think this is totally cool or what? I had one friend want him to be the Doctor - but NOOOOO, for one thing he's too old for our Doctor's these days, but I doubt he wants to be tied down to another series either. What do you think?

wooow! that would be awesome! ive always loved Patrick Stewart and who doesnt love David Tennant?! you'd have to be crazy, blind and a slab of sod to think this wouldnt be a great place for Stewart to step back into the genre!! even if it is only for a couple of episodes! (please be at least 2! lol)
when i heard about the whole year until the next season of Who i was soo bummed! how can they do that to us?! lol! though from what i understand Tennant is a great stage actor (never seen anything myself of course) and its something that he really enjoys. so more power to him right?
lets just hope that the year hiatus goes fast!

Patrick Stewart as the Doctor. Great! jon Pertweit never seemed incapable for age. I would love to see him as guest star(especially a recurring role). The Daoctor has had compahions from unusual places before but one of the best was fellow time lord Ramana. Since she parted company with him at the edge of (if not entirely outside of ) the time space continuum she has no less reason to return than the master had.
The older the Doctor who episode the less chance I've had to see it though, I did see seveal of the old black and white episodes several years ago on a distant channel with a week signal and snowy picture. I've never heard of the meddling monk though.
As for holding out with the Sarah Jane Chronicles I only hope they fare better than K-9 and Company.( first attempt at that particular spin-off).
As for Torchwood-they need to get off the characters personal foibles and get back into some serious stories(or at least waste some aliens)
Whovians, Sidrats, see you in the future(or did I do that in the past?)

Since Tom Baker's day, they've expected more action from their Doctors. I also don't think Patrick Stewart wants to get tied down to another series, he's doing so well with the Royal Shakespear Company.
The meddling monk was a 2nd Doctor era villin, often suspected to having been a proto-Master.
Well, since they have already made a season of The Adventures of Sarah Jane, I think its doing better than the first try.

Thanks for the BR. I've only seen one episode of the second doctor and the first doctor episodes i saw were difficult because I could hear them a lot better than I could see them. I guess that explains not knowing about the meddling monk.
I've seen you start a couple new Doctor Who threads recently but I haven't had time to read them yet. Keep up the great work.

Patrick Stewart has been very busy since Star Trek. for the last several years he's held down the Royal Shakespear Company lead, but he can do the older roles, the younger ones they have to find youngsters like David Tennant to do roles like Hamlet.

Hi ElicBxn,
Many years ago, I used to watch Dr Who when it was black and white but since broght it back to life, I just don't have the same feelings for it, I think I am strange because everyone is mad about Dr Who, but I can't help it, it just don't appeal to me anymore.

Actually, I can sort of understand it. I am, however, a dyed in the wool time travel fan and aliens and telepathy are also big in my favorites list.
So, Doctor Who hits all the bases!
I can't say the Eccleston did much for me, tho there were a few shows I did really like, but Tennant is the best since Tom Baker in my book - and I was quite fond of Peter's Doctor.

Oh can't wait!
I love Patrick Stewart and of course David Tennant too.
Together?? Totally awesome.
I am a bit put out about the break, but at the moment, we have Sarah Jane adventures, which although is for kids, is still great - last week's had a Sontaran left over from the last battle!
and does anyone know when Torchwood is back? Is that this year at least?

I hear that Torchwood will only be a kind of 5 (or maybe 6) hour special that will run over the course of a week.
I haven't seen the new Sarah Jane adventures - Sarah Jane was always one of my fav companions! And Leela and Nyssa and Ace... Rose was good, liked Martha - hated Donna
