When I was young I just settled for any car I could afford or in some cases what relatives handed down to me. but as I got older and bought cars (even though I bought used) I started saying shy am I going to buy a car and make payments for the next few years on something that yes, gets me back and forth- but that I don't really ENJOY! so my last 2 purchases I made sure to get what I really wanted. And even weirder both were bought with out even a test drive or starting the car or anything. I just knew it was meant to be my car and bought it and car #1 my Dodge Caravan (yes that is what I wanted. lol) Is still on the road 10 years later -only now I am letting relatives use it.. and car #2 my beautiful Blue Pontiac Aztek (Yes, It's a matter of Opinion!) I bought off eBay and was exactly what I was looking for and haven't regretted a day of it.. so what about you- have you "Settled" did it work out good? Or do you make sure you get what you want?

I have always settled for what i could afford but the car that was "my perfect car" was given to me by my daughter. It was a hunter green (i don't like the color green)and it was a Ford Contour (i had rather have a nissian)but after having it for about a week i relized that the seat was perfect (i didn't have to fall out of it on my knees because of back pain when i got to where i was going) and it got almost 400miles on a tank of gas. I grew to LOVE that car after having it for almost five years i got into a wreck and my beautiful car was spread out over four lanes of highway. I cried everytime i saw another piece of it when i would have to pass the accident site (it was completly totaled). I will never find another car like Louise. I mourn her to this day.

Aw, poor Louise... I think I would be really devastated if that happened to my Crikey. I hope you were okay though...

I've gotten hand-me-downs and have been very happy with them, but in 1999 I got a Honda Odyssey and love it!

yes, see- I found that I LOVE my car more -when I got the one that I really wanted. I still look at my Aztek now and I have had it for almost 2 years and think I am so glad I own this beautiful car... And I will argue with anyone that calls her Ugly..lol

I think cars, like any thing, is a matter of opinion. I think the Honda Element is just the ugliest box on the road - and I do mean BOX!

I never settle for just any car when buying a new one. We bought a used truck though because we use it for hauling stuff. We take care of it and have fixed it up though. It looks really nice.

That's Awesome- I had to settle so many times- I got tired of it.. And now that I get what I want -I have been lucky and these cars are going to last the longest!

YEs, see I knew we all are much happier when it is a car of our CHOICE. I think the car knows to and behaves accordingly. lol

I can't adequately answer this question as it was meant because I have never and will never be able to drive. However, I will answer it for remote control cars then. I get whatever I can get, provided it is in a color that would be fairly high contrast with the ground so that I can see it, and not one of those minis either.
