Hi You Lot
Please help
Here in South Africa when I want to heat water to make coffee I switch on an electric kettle.
But whenever I see an American movie or TV show, The water is always heated on a stove.
Is there a reason for this? Do you have electric kettles in the USA ?

We usually use a kettle for hot water for tea, that is why it is called a tea kettle. Most people use an electric perculator for their coffee. There probably are electric kettles, but I would rather use the kettle on the stove, it's just for boiling water.
