Okay guys, here's one for you. Do you buy the gifts for your mom, sweetheart, wife, kids, etc.? Or do you have your mom, sweetheart, wife, secretary, etc buy the gifts? Better yet do you wrap them or get someone else to do it?

Hi I'm a girl but I like this post. :) My brothers buy gifts on their own for me and for mom and for girl cousins and all girls in their lists. Sometimes though they ask for my opinion about what to buy but if I ask if they need my help they say OF COURSE NOT! But Christmas time they need help from me :) My dad's another story, he doen't know how to buy gifts for us girls or for the rest of the family, he's not comfortable going to department stores. But he did buy gifts for us a few times because we did not help him and challenged him to do it himself. MEN should buy gifts.

Yes I agree, my dad usually gives money to one of us girls and a general list for Christmas shopping for my mom, he knows what he wants to buy but isn't comfortable shopping in stores, except hardware, lumber and feed stores. My husband is the same and I wonder if maybe it's a generational thing as my brother and my son do their own shopping, but they usually ask for "help" wrapping, meaning one of us girls generally does it for them. ;)

I think men should buy the gifts for the special people in their lives. They might have a friend help them wrap the gifts. But yes, they should choose the gifts themselves as it will mean more to the person receiving it.

I agree but would add that if for some reason they don't like or can't do the actual shopping, they should make a list of what to buy for the person doing the actual shopping
