How do you prefer your Ramen Noodles?

I just read a discussion about mac and cheese and it got me to thinking about ramen noodles. I have found myself making ramen noodles quite a bit lately because they are cheap. I don't usually make it by the directions. Sometimes I add cheese. Sometimes I throw in some peas or mixed veggies. I almost always throw in some chopped onion. I also like to make the noodles, drain all the water and add italian dressing. That is great! Sometimes I make a big pot, add the seasoning, add some onion, and drizzle egg into it to make a sort of egg drop soup with noodles. What do you do to ramen noodles to change things up?

Here in India it is only Maggi Noodles, Ramen sells very less, It is only about 15% of the total Noodles market. Maggi is consumed more than Ramen

cristobert, What is your taste preference like? What do you do with your instant noodles? You may want to try out my suggestions at (15) and let us know what you think. Extra Tip: Maggi Noodles need a shorter cooking time 2 minutes or the noodles will be too soft to do anything. Also, add a little olive oil/cooking oil when you boil the noodles. Gives the noodles a nice smooth and shining texture.

I like Ramen Noodles too, not only because they're cheap but I love their texture. I don't stop at or even rarely use the flavor packet that comes with them. My personal favorite recipe with Ramen Noodles is 2 packages of noodles (break into small pieces, drain off all but approx. 2 cups of water, 1 can of Cream of Mushroom soup, 1 can of small peas, 1 can of tuna. Then put in a small cassarole dish and then top with homemade garlic butter croutons, grated cheddar cheese and chopped black olives. Bake on low heat about 275 degrees in the oven until the croutons are toasted nice and crispy. Done! But watch out, it's addictive!

Yes, Ramen Noodles..I normally cook Ramen Noodles with Kimchi( pickled of fermented vegetable side dishes flavored with seafood and spices).First, I pan fried some shitake mushroom, chicken or beef with oil. Then boiled some water and cook the Ramen then rinse them with cold water and set aside. (thats make the noodles taste chewy) Boiled some chicken stock and add in the mushroom, chicken/beef,any vegetable available, Ramen Noodle and off cause the Kimchi, when fully boiled and I'll add in an egg and there comes the yummy Kimchi Ramen, It will definitely make you sweat..haha..thats the best part...CHEERS Enjoy!!

My FAVORITE flavor of ramen noodles is chicken. I treat ramen like soup so I add enough water to mine to make a broth with the noodles. I add Cajun seasoning with the chicken flavor packet and it tastes AWESOME! I don't know any other way to eat them. Oh, maybe with hot sauce, but it doesn't work as well as my usual method.

I like the chicken too. That is probably the one that me and the kids eat the most. I also love cajun seasoning. That stuff makes just about anything taste better. Thanks for your response.

I add cream of chicken soup once in a while. We also use the noodles in place of pasta and put it with spaghetti sauce, or make sweet and sour chicken. Just put vinegar, brown sugar, ketchup and ginger to make the sauce. There are great recipes out there. I got a cookbook with 101 things to do with ramen noodles. It was great.

I boil it as usual and add a bit of butter, black pepper, a whole onion and a fillet of fish or some chicken bones or, as well, a couple eggs. Its not bad, considering the price.

Wow you're very creative. I have actually never added or tried anything different with my top ramen. Usually when I eat top ramen it's because I'm in a hurry and don't have time to prepare a meal. So I typically just do the boring all way it's supposed to be made. I drain all the juice out though. For some reason I don't like having juice in them. I know alot of my friends that eat it mix in hot sauce and soy sauce though. I like your idea of addign veggies and such. Sounds good!

I prefer the noodles without a lot of broth too. Though the broth is great if you have a cold or sore throat.

I'm boring when it comes to ramen noodles. LOL I only like the oriental flavor. I only like them plain, and I use less water so that its more like just noodles than it is soup. I haven't been eating them too much lately - not since I looked on the package and saw the calorie count on it! Yikes!

I like buying the Ramen Noodles Cups and I take them and gentely crush them up without breaking the cup and I cut Slim Jims and put it in thecup, put hot water in it and let it cook like the dirictions says to. And while you are waiting for the soup to cook take some cheeto's and crush them up (You only need about 1/4 cup or one of the single serve bags). When the soup is done you then stir in the cheeto's. Then you are all set to eat your soup and people that have been eating Ramen Noodles longer then me calls this Brick. Why is beyound me. But it is really good.

I love mine with parmasean cheese, or with egg in it like egg drop soup also. My husband like it without most of the water, so it's more like noodles and less like soup. But other than that I haven't tried to do too much with ramen noodles. Might have to try some of the suggestions on here though.

The best recipe i got is crunched up peanuts, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and the ramen cooked the normal way. They call it hollywood peanut ramen and it's awesome. It comes out like some thai peanut meal kinda thing it's pretty good. You should try it.

I use ramen noodles to clean out the refrigerator. I usually make them with just half of their salty seasonings. Then whatever I have just a little bit of in the refrigerator that I do not want to throw away. They go well with almost everything.

Yum, my husband and I love Ramen noodles! Whenever we both sit down and find time I'll boil the noodles the normal way and add the spices, chop up some beef hot dogs, green onions, break an egg or two into a big pot and we'll both have a great meal. There's also this Vietnamese pate we call 'cha', with the long a vowel sound, that can also be added. You can normally buy it at the Asian market and it's not too expensive. Goes great as well. Another way is to do as above, drain the soup, and fry the noodles so you have a crispy texture and it goes great with the eggs if you save the soup as well. That will serve as a great side dish. Just thinking of that, I think I'm going to have a bowl of noodles now. Have a great day!

I like some of the things you add to your ramen noodles and am going to try them. I have added tomato sauce to them. At other times I have mixed two packages of noodles together. You are right they are cheap and good.

Ramen noodles are the awesome. I make them according to the directions but my husband will add in all sorts of veggies, more noodles, and egg. He also will not use the seasoning provided but adds in his own (curry, tumeric, etc...). I am terrible at creating food so I leave it up to him. :)
