What type of sandwich do you like to eat with soup?

When I was a kid, my mom would serve
chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese
sandwiches for lunch.
Sometimes, it would be vegetables soup.
I can still remember how good the sandwiches and soup tasted.
The perfect combination of foods!
If you were to have a sandwich and soup today
for lunch, what would you have?

hi beautyqueen I love tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwichs, and vegetable soup and ham on rye with lots of mustard,
and chicken noodle soup with a bacon, lettuce and tomato with lots of hidden valley ranch dressing. those are my favorites
for sure.

Like you I love grilled cheese. It goes with anything. There's this restuarant here in the Philippines called "The Soup Kitchen". They have this Chili Soup that really goes well with grilled cheese. Mind you, it isn't the type of soup that will leave you hungry after a few hours. 
In fact, it can keep you full until dinner time. 
That same soup also goes so well with Macaroni salad or Potato salad. Yum!

The Asian and western people tastebuds are so much different. We are not used to eating bread and soup in any one meal except for breakfast. I think we Asians have big appetites and will not settle something less filling as sandwiches for a meal. It will be rice nothing but rice with soup and 2 other dishes either fish or chicken or vegetables. For sandwiches we reserve it for breakfast or picnics.
Though bread is widely sold here but it is a bit alien for main meals in Asian homes.

tuna fish.that pretty much goes with everything,and that's my favorite sandwich.
particularily good with tomato soup.

It has to be grilled cheese and tomato soup..I just had that last night since i was like Mother Hubbard with my cupboards bare..lol..
