Quiet time on your own...

I wake up early in the morning to prepare for my work. I teach in one of the universities here in our city. My work time depends on how many subjects I have for the day plus how many activities we are required to attend to. This means that I actually have enough time to spend some quiet time on my own. When I do so, I prepare for my next class or just simply spend some few idle minutes before starting on my other tasks for the day. What is your everyday like? Is it something wherein you are always rushing from one task to the next? In this fast-paced world, it is necessary or even critical to slow down for a moment each day. Do you spend some quiet time alone each day? If you do, when and how do you do it?

I try to take time out of every day for some quiet time. Most of my day is spent running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything done and be everything to everyone. During my quiet time I usually journal, knit, write or just stare at a wall if its been a particularly hard day.

It's really nice to have a hobby that we can work on during those times when we just want some quiet time on our own...

When I was still in school and not living on my own, I'd wake up a few minutes before my alarm clock went off, and just enjoyed the music on my radio that I'd left on the night before. It was a bit of time for me to just relax and think what I wanted to think.

I only work part time during the Christmas holidays so I have a lot of spare time during the day while my son is at school and hubby is at work. I catch up on things I haven't been able to do, either relax and watch a movie, surf online, chat with friends or even have that extra nap.

Time out,and relaxation is somthing that we all need in our lives. If our brain is under constant bombardment, noise pollution then at the end of the day it will only be a matter of time before we suffer. In industry and manufacturing the noise levels are so high that it is essential that ear protection is worn at all times. With new health and safety regulations there is always an awareness that noise may be damaging to your well being. Our world is fast paced, there are certain parts of the world that move much slower, due to the heat or the climatic conditions. There are parts of the world where it is necessary to start their day much earlier than we do,to avoid the heat of the afternoon sun. Most of us would readilly admit that time alone is a prerequisite,it is essential for our mental stability. If we endlessly work and never take time out, then something has to give..and if we are not careful it will be us.

Thinking is an act of talking to the soul. And that is what I do in my own time. I usually like to spend time alone without anyone disturbing me. It is very important for me because I sit back and make some decisions. I think about what I have to do and plan my life for the next instant. It's always great to have some time because you can work a lot our and also think back about the past. Alone time also helps when you are in troubles and need a solution. If you are around people, they you are constantly being bombarded with ideas and unwanted opinions. bourne

Hi dolce_vita, I don't work anymore so I do have a lot of free time, that if I'm not running around my husband, but I do all my house and everyting that has to be done, then when my husband goes to work then I get my free time. Tamara
