Have you ever got a gnat in your eye?

Just in case you're not from the South,
a gnat is a tiny flying bug that pesters
you night and day during the hottest months.
They don't really bite. But they do land on you
and make you itch.
They're really bad in sultry humid environments.
When I was a kid, I'd get gnats in my eyes
all the time.
I think they're going after the moisture.
Burns really bad!

I live in TX, and i have gotten one in my eye a few times before. When I was a kid, there was this tree that if you walked by it, you were sure to get one. It's like the gnats would congregate there or something. It does not feel comfy at all. My sister would get them too, and my mom would get them out with a paper towel.

Here, north of the US border we have tiny flies, too....they are referred to as "no-see-ums!" as they are that tiny! And YES, they are a pest & mostly to the eyes & ears! Really troublesome to my pets, too.
By the way...Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all! Cheers!

Nope, this has never happened to me. Fortunately I don't live near gnats. I've never gotten a local fly in my eye either. I guess I'm lucky.

Yeah, you are!
They don't taste good either.
And, they like to bother you at picnics,
so you're bound to get one on your sandwich!
