Comments on Friends Page

I was wondering how many of you myLotters still leave those cute little comments on your friends profile page. It seems to me that members are not doing this nearly as much as they used to. I used to do it each time I added a new friend and when I just wanted to say hello to an old friend. I think it's a great way to welcome new friends to myLot. Lately I have decided to post comments a couple of days each week. How often do you leave comments on your friends pages?

Guilty as charged I am afraid I used to do this, all the time, same as the other site beginning with Y, trouble is after Mylot did the big upgrade and the change around with the site, the images didn't work properly and no matter how many times I copied nad pasted the html coding etc it failed to leave the image, so I gave up in the end to be truthful. But yes you are right members are not doing this as much, maybe they've had the same problem as I have had? Or haven't realize the facility is there to do that, leave messages etc? Maybe a discussion is worth doing to inform members both old and new that comments can be left to welcome new friends and old alike?

Are you using html or script? Mylot used to allow script, but not anymore. I guess it's a security issue thing.

Maybe this post will alert members who didn't know, wolfie. I also had trouble with comments when the changes first occurred, but I wrote to admin and they soon were worked out. Have you tried posting any lately?

I have to admit not very often but I am not here that much anymore I really prefer it at the other Place now specially because when you write to admin you get a reply straight away and they check things to but I will leave you one lol Big Hugs

I used to do it a lot. I started noticing that the activity of posting comments was not being counted towards my participation earnings. The result was I was not getting paid for my time to post comments. I think this is a change because I used to do it so much and I recall it did count towards participation. I could be wrong. I have seen some people who do quite a bit of posting comments.

I like to leave comments, royal, because it lets my friends know that I am thinking of them even if we have not crossed paths here on myLot for some time.

I haven't done this in a while worldwise. I don't have a lot of time when I am online now that I have picked up lots of hours at my part time job. I'm just about to sign off again and get this house cleaned before I start work again.

I understand how it can be so if you are a busy person, maddysmommy. Sometimes it takes awhile to retrieve those comments from a site.

Hi worldwise...it takes me at least an hour or thereabouts to add one of those friends comments so I don't do it too often...I sure would like to do it lots of the time. You see, I'm on dial-up and it takes ages for the page to load so I can select a picture....then it takes ages for the code to load and so on...I simply cannot afford the time these days.

I must admit that I am not one to leave these messages on the profile page, just don't have time to leave for anyone and i have been finding it hard to even find some spare time to even make posts or comments let alone leave those messages which no one reads anyone.

I use to, but since I had to downgrade to a windows 98, it takes forever to get onto my friends profiles, let alone finding a cute comment and leaving it..Just to even go through my friends list, I wait until I go to the library, because if I didn't, it would take me days and that is not counting replying and starting discussions..Just for me to start or to view my own discussions, takes just as long, so you can imagine what I go through replying to mine and looking for ones without a BR so I can give one out.. When I do get a better computer, I will visit my friends page more often, but for now, only if I feel a need to..

I agree, carmelanirel, that it can be a slow process, at best. I used to have dialup myself.

I don't often get comments from some of the people, but I'm happy with the ones that I do.
