Over a period of time a lot of customs and traditions have started in every society. some are really old customs and traditins. Soem may not be valid today, but we stil stick to them because our parents followed tehmand theri parents before them and you too have beeing doing it since birth. If your children quesiton teh traditions, you admonish them. Is there any point in following most of the ancient traditions blindly?

I can't comment on ancient traditions but I do follow my family Christmas tradition. I know that is has been done for at least six generations. I prepare a special Christmas eve dinner for my family and close friends that my mother and five generations before her prepared. It is a wonderful event that everyone looks forward too. My children participate as well, and think it it fun. I expect they too will carry this on.

It really depends, like right now there are traditions that I guess should also evolve. I believe that traditions and customs are meant to address the needs of humans, but when they seem becoming an obstacle, then, I would disregard such particular practice.

I have given up religion, so I do not follow any customs and traditions and all. And I think I'm better off without them, because I see at people who are following them and they are somehow in a worse state than I am. I'm psychologically and mentally stable. I do not say all people who follow customs and traditions are unstable, but there are some people who get so attached to them they make the world a harder place to live in. bourne

I think that most people feel a certain amount of security in sticking with old traditions. Like everything else in our lives, the familiar feels safe. I do think however that people should know how traditions came to be and why their families observe them.

I like to stick to tradition because I am proud of them. I like to be unique and try to stick as what the tradition says. When today's people started to mix other culture in, I just follow my old ways. I am proud to pass down my tradition to my children later.
