I have felt sometimes that the way we dress also sometimes control the confidence level. If we are very comfortable and dress in a very formal way, the confidence level is up. I have seen them in my case. Mainly in business and office scenario. What is your thought?

my take is that it's the other way round. the confidence level will actually influence the dress. just like why the dress that looked so good on the model looks hideous on us. it's not that the dress is badly designed but the wearer does not feel confident. no matter how nice the dress is, one will not look good if he/she keeps fidgeting and adjusting the dress. on the other hand, a confident person will look better in a pair of jeans compared with a low self-esteem person in a power suit. cheers

If you wear something good, something that you reallylike and that suits you well you feel pleased when you look at yourself in the mirror. In an office scenario or the outside world this adds to your personality .People look at you with slightly greater patience and answer your queries. THat iswhy it adds to your confidence also. But unless you groom yourself decently in an outside world, people do not care tp look at you. All saying that 'all that glitters is not gold'' vanishes in today's world. In an office environment , Ultimately your performance may speak for yourself but decent dress does fetch some response indirectly boosting your confidence level too.

Ya subha, I also think like you.I also many times felt more confident with dress i wear.If we are with a dress we don't like, then it will decrease our confident level also. Thanks for sharing this with us and have a nice day.

Hi there subha. I am supporting this point of view as i do believe that dressing influences your confidence level. If you know you are dressed nice, or if you are dressed with something that you like it's bound to boost your moral while knowing that you are dressed poorly doesn't really help.

yes I have often seen that the dress I wear helps me a lot duirng some occasions. This is true especially when I am entering a strange place,or meeting some important person or even attending a party or meeting...Dressing well or rather,"dressing to kill" always helps to create an impression in others and helps to build up confidence and adds poise and graciousness to one self.

Hi subha yes it does raise or lower your self confidence. A good dress actually enhances our presence and thus increases our confidence to a great extent. Like a bad hair day or a bad apparel day certainly makes me very dull and down. That affects the work I am doing.

I think the way we dress, does help to build our confidence level. We feel bad when we do not think we look nice in our clothing.

Hello subha12 Without any hesitation I an tell you it is 100% correct and true. Your personality is reflecting through your dress sense . We are wearing dress according to the situation & circumstances prevails. For example if you go to the party you must wear gorgeous and eye catcher dress, if you go to school or college there might have been other dress code, if you attend any interview you have to wear light colour full shirt with black or navy blue full pant in a very formal way, which will attract the eyesight of interviewer. Your appearance will fetch 50% marks and definitely you will be successful. Hence proper dress sense boost up confidence level. pkc3000

Hi subha... Yes. I would think that your clothes can influence your confidence especially if you know that you're going to turn heads with what you're wearing. It feels good to hear people comment on how good you look or how professional you look with what you're wearing. So yes, what you're wearing can definitely help you feel more confident.

Well... i think that the way we dress really does influence our confidence level... when i am in the office i wear only regular clothes... but when i will be meeting with someone important... i dress more nicely... fix my hair... and put on some make up... that way... i would get the respect that i deserve... since some people would look down at others who are not dressed appropriately for a certain occassion...

I know for me it seems to be the case. On days it would benefit me to feel completely confident I will 'dress up before I show up' so to speak. My husband is the opposite.... he is more confident when he is dressed comfortably.

Umm... I have been thinking this over, and I think self-confidence come first. You have a better dress sense if your self-confidence level is high. You take better care of your personal appearance and dress better when you have more self-esteem and self-worth. Of course, I wouldn't make a rule out of this. Mahavira would move around naked, yet he had immense self-confidence! ;) Cheers and happy mylotting

i agree with you. the clothes or dress you wear does affect the way you act. it also affects our confidence level. i experienced wearing something i'm not comfortable wearing and i really got conscious about how i look that i didn't even want to mingle with others. lol.=D
