Coincidence? Or well-planned?

Bush interrupted by ad for musical
NEW YORK (UPI) -- A New York TV station says it was just coincidence a speech by President George W. Bush about the economy was overlapped by an ad with a timely literary phrase.
Bush's speech Saturday was interrupted on WNBC-TV by a commercial for the Broadway musical "A Tale of Two Cities," the New York Daily News reported."It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," the commercial said, showing the blade of a guillotine slamming down.
The phrase is the well known opening line of Charles Dickens' "A Tale of Two Cities" -- an epic story set against the French Revolution depicting the wide gap between the super rich and the growing number of poor people.
After several seconds, WNBC's picture reverted to Bush, with the station later saying the incredible timing was a coincidence."We fixed the problem quickly and apologize for the error," WNBC said in a release.
What do you think? Was it purely a coincidence or did someone deliberately plan this commercial break out?

I find it hard to believe that this was just a coincidence...it was too well timed and the images were too in step with what some ppl think of Bush. I think if it was intentional, they should be ashamed and if it wasn't, they need to fix the problem so it doesn't happen again.

I said ashamed b/c I was taught growing up that even if you don't agree with someone you have respect for them...I didn't always agree with my Grandparents, teachers, principal's or alot of other ppl but I had respect for them. I don't agree with everything Bush has done but he is President and he does have my respect. If this was intentional, it shows a lack of respect.
Also I'm a firm believer that if your going to do something have the b*lls to stand up and admit to it. If you can't do that, then don't bother doing it. Too many ppl do things and then refuse to take responsibility for their actions...for whatever reason. If this was intentional then they should take responsibility for it and not hide behind a "mistake".

Either way, I hope they get a fine from the FCC for interupting Bush. I'll be so glad when this election is over because I'm so sick of the games these people play.

Hi fwidman,
OMG! that is so funny, I don't believe in coincidence, it was definately planned, I have watched the movie the Tales Of Two Cities by Charles Dickens and when you think of it. that is exactly what is happening today, the rich are richer and the poor gets poorer and suffer more than the rich, I wish I saw that I would have enjoyed laughing, well done.

I think it was just an accident. I doubt anyone would risk getting fired over it. Things like that can happen sometimes and its not any type of intentional action. They also did apologize which was good.

I can't believe that they screwed up so bad! Although it's very fitting I am sure that it was an awful mistake.
